And just like that our yearly beach adventure begins.
I will be out of the office until the 24th of February. Katie will still be checking my emails daily and I will still get some reception when I head into town.

Can you change your name with the marriage certificate you get on the day?
Unfortunately no, you will have to register with Birth Deaths and Marriage (BDM) who will have all your information 14 days after your wedding once I have lodged all the legal documents on my end. Once you do that BDM will send you out a marriage certificate in the mail which you will use when you change your name on all your ID.

I don’t love when there is a miss-hap but I do love when I have exactly what you need in my “Wedding First Aid Kit” to fix the issue.
I haven’t had an issue arise yet that I haven’t had a solution for. 🙌🏼

I often get asked what signature you use on the day, you will need to sign the same signature that you signed your NOIM with, as if you choose to change your name that won’t have happened yet. ✍️ 💐

Do you have to say romantic vows?
Nope, not true. The words in your vows do not have to be romantic what so ever. Nobody should ever use words or sentences that make them feel not genuine, or are a just a bit too sickly and sweet. Speak your truth. Say the words that make you feel happy and comfortable with what’s being said, words that sound like they really have come from your mouth and not from someone else. You can say beautiful, honest, funny vows which still make your partners heart melt and brings tears to their eyes without laying on the cheese.

Things to remember when you are both caught up in planning the wedding and trying to keep people happy.
• Be you, the day is for the 2 of you. It's not a stage show for your family, friends or anyone else.
• It's not about how much alcohol you provide or the menu.
• If the planning feels too hard it probably is - bring it back to you two!
• Wear whatever you want to wear on your big day.
• Don't do traditional and don't feel you have to if it's not you.
• Go together and have that first glimpse and time together before ceremony.
• Remind each other in all the craziness why you are getting married.
• Make sure you laugh through out your wedding planning journey.

It’s hard to believe 35 years ago we were newly weds.
It was a whopping 39 degrees, everyone was dressed to the nines with sweat dripping down their faces. 🤣
35 years together has had many ups and downs, we bought two wonderful children into the world Katie & Mitchell who married and bought Scott & Casey into our lives which followed our beautiful grandchildren Taj, Spencer, Halle & Harvey. We are always celebrated with so much love on this day by our family and friends.
Cheers to us and the many years to come. 🥂🤍
