The iconic NSW Triathlon Club Championships has long been the ‘end of season’ trip where members get to race ‘with’ their fellow club members, as opposed to “against” them. Set in the idyllic seaside town of Forster Tuncurry in Midcoast NSW, the event is exciting, beautiful, challenging and ‘a blast’ all at once.

It's official. With mixed emotions we wanted to let our past participants know that we won't be staging this event moving forward. After COVID, bad weather, approval issues and low participant numbers, we have decided after 16 years, to remove this event from our H Events calendar. We want to thank the past and recent participants for their patronage of the event. We also want to thank the community and property owners for welcoming us to Wollombi and allowing us to use their properties. There are many complicating facets to staging MTB events on private, public and state owned land, that require endless paperwork and regular uncertainly and stress in the planning. This has ended our passion to stage this event.
A special thanks to the Laguna Volunteer Fire Brigade for their assistance in staging the event. Also thanks to Undercliff Winery and other private property owners, and of course, Wollombi Tavern. We have appreciated their support.
Our final thanks go to Quarry Mining and Hunter Valley Bicycle Centre. As long term sponsors of this event, we appreciate their support and broader commitment to getting people moving.
At H Events we stage a large number of multi-sport and running events in the Hunter. We are in no way finished with MTB events. Watch this space.... in future years!

In 2007, NewRun - Newcastle’s Festival of Running was born, bringing together running enthusiasts with the Hill to Harbour (originally 10km fun run) 🏃♀️ Who remembers the massive storm during the event?! In 2010, the event moved to become a running festival with a half marathon, 10km (Hill to Harbour) and 5km and 2km events. In 2014 a marathon was staged however logistical issues around Newcastle meant that the course was no long viable. In 2019, the first looped marathon course was launched and was an instant success. Two years ago, we made a big change! We separated NewRun into two separate weekends to allow these events to grow. Since 2023, the Hill to Harbour is now a standalone event held on the second weekend in April each year. It showcases the beautiful City of Newcastle with a 12km Hill to Harbour, 6km Halfa Hill to Harbour, and 2K-4-FUN event 🌊 The Newcastle Marathon now takes place on the third weekend in April each year, featuring flat and fast courses for both the marathon and half marathon. This is a change from the hilly courses of previous years! Hill to Harbour and the Newcastle Marathon remain part of NewRun - Newcastle’s Festival of Running, but hosting them on separate weekends has allowed us to grow and showcase our amazing city even more! Our old NewRun social media pages are now dedicated to Hill to Harbour and we’ve created a new Newcastle Marathon page (Please follow us for updates). Next year Hill to Harbour will be on Sunday 6th April and Newcastle Marathon will be on Saturday 19th April (Easter Saturday as we want to stay consistent with being on the third weekend in April each year). Island Triathlon Festival weekend started with a bang! Great weather and company! Come and join us for the rest of the weekend in beautiful Stockton. Tomorrow we have our Aquathlon and on Sunday our Triathlons and Paratriathlon!
We are racing...with some changes. Ja Davis explains. An email is also going out to all competitors this morning. Keep an eye out. In short the event is now staged from Pitt St Reserve (behind the Pool) and all swim legs are reduced and will take place in the Stockton Pool in a rectangular course in waves. Otherwise ride and run courses remain same, expect for start and finish points on course. Lets GOOOO!
