The Airlie Beach Regatta was a sight to behold today, with crystal-clear waters and a cloudless sky. But unfortunately, the wind gods were not in a cooperating mood, and the larger boats were forced to cancel their races.
But that didn't stop the smaller boats from having a blast! The F18s and Wetas took to the water in light winds, and they put on a great show for the spectators.
It was a day of sunshine and sailing, just not for the big boats. But the smaller boats made the most of it, and they put on a great show for everyone.
So if you're looking for a fun and colorful way to spend a day in Airlie Beach, be sure to check out the next yacht regatta. You never know, you might just get lucky and catch a day with some wind!

Day 1 of Airlie Beach Race Week at Whitsunday Sailing Club yesterday was fun. Today was the official opening of the race. I got to film 200 yachts coming my way with the drone. you wait til you see the shots from that. they are unbelievable. So happy to be running Colours and Clouds Media as my one and only job at the moment. So honored to be the official videographer working on Race week too. Airlie Beach is paradise. Love my town and my home. we live a pretty fruitful life in our little bubble.

Day 7 Airlie Beach Race Week - the final day , speeches, fireworks, music and celebrations!
Day 7 - Final day of Airlie Beach Race Week. The day was based on a short course in view from Airlie of the bay. The weather was pretty unsavoury at first but then shined bright for the finish of the race and the end of a successful boating regatta.Big thanks to all involved in the setting up and running of this event. It was an absoloute pleasure to be amongst so many seasoned professionals who showed their skills off racing around some of the most beautiful locations in the Whitunsdays. The night finished off with music from The Fox and fire works from the Whitsunday Sailing Club. Until next year!
Day 5 -Airlie Beach Race Week 2021 - Dumbrell island
Day 5 of Airlie Beach Race Week. By far the best day of weather we have had out on the water all week with the sun shining and the clouds staying far away. The water was glistening with that famous blue everyone knows our town for. Plenty of wind had the boats racing out towards Dumbrell island and back again. There are only a few more days of race week left and then it's all over till next year but hopefully, the weather holds out to give us a picture-perfect finish to remember it by until next year rolls around. It's been a pleasure covering race week so far and we are looking forward to the last few days of excitement out on the high seas. 📸☀🏝⚓🌊😁⚓🏝☀📸😁

Day 3 of Airlie Beach Race Week. Today kicked off with a bit of rain but that didn't dampen the spirits of the sailors. Hundreds of people turned out to race around the North and South Mole Island Circuit. The weather started out with a bit of rain but then the course cleared up nicely with whales being reported to be in the Whitsunday passage. 🌊⚓⛵️⚓⛵️⚓🌊

Airlie Beach Race Week - Day 1 - Double Cone Island Circuit
Day 2 of Airlie Beach Race Week. ⚓️A crazy day of high winds, a bit of rain, and lots of action out on the waters of the Whitsundays. We had 2 boats capsize in the rough winds and a few snapped masts as well. The opening day of the races went off with a bang, however. 70 Vessels embarked on a course around Double Cone Island. Lots of work goes into organizing these races with over 50 volunteers helping out and a bunch of chase boats. The weather was fierce but made for some good sailing and some great shots.⛵️⛵️⛵️🎥🌊🌊🌊
