A chance meeting ☀️

By luck, I ran into James and the boys in the street on the way to their wedding in Edinburgh. James gave me a traditional sgian-dubh to tuck into my sock at their ceremony - such an awesome gesture and a gift that now takes pride of place on my bedside table.

Jim and Car, Tina and I are so grateful for you having us both to celebrate with you, sharing so many laughs and forging incredible lasting memories. From opposite sides of the world, I'm sure we share the wish that we could do it all over again.

Kilty Pleasure 🪻

One of the perks of the job is the privilege of travel to celebrate marriages abroad. As such it is wonderful to share in local customs and don the local garb. Swipe to see details!

For James and Car's wedding, I chose this beautiful 'Dark Island' Tartan with muted greens and golds. I wanted to do justice to the coming together of Australian and Scottish families by combining the eucalyptus and thistle in my boutonniere.

No Highland dress would be complete without a sporran and an ornate sgian-dubh (small knife - which came in quite handy in cutting the vents on my jacket!) - what an awesome gift from the couple!

An occasion I will never forget and count myself so lucky to have been a part of!

Ahh, the end of another wonderful season. 🌟

I'm filled with gratitude for all the beautiful couples I've had the honor to unite this season. Each ceremony was a unique celebration of love, and I'm thrilled to have been part of your special moments.

This season has taken me all over Melbourne, to regional Victoria, down to Wilson's Prom and up to Brisbane. ✈️

Here's to more unforgettable weddings and everlasting memories! 💍✨

Black Tie 🐧
The most classic of looks for David and Louise's Wedding in Melbourne last year. I think back often to this day in particular. There was detailed planning involved to capture a sophisticated, old-world overall feel to the day. But this was softened by humour, warmth and a very inclusive collection of friends and family truly there to love and support.
The day was captured by Ollie who is one of the most talented artist-photographers I have had the pleasure of working with. His photographs blended the charm of a bygone era with a papparazzi-esque edge. Each example could be framed and hung in a gallery telling its unique story of the subject. This photo, shot whilst I MC'd the reception transports me back to the evening where the Jazz piano formed a twinkling backdrop. I remember taking a beat after this, feeling like I was in a movie! It was just a dream - and here it is in picture form.

Postcard Perfect 🏖️
The weather was perfect for Emmanuel & Charles' big day back in November. The beautiful turquoise water and the white sand of Barwon Heads made for the most beautiful backdrop in front of which to tie the knot.
If planning a beach wedding, something to consider is the wind factor. Where we had the lightest of zephyrs for this wedding in November, depending on the location, different times of year or even seasons can see the weather whip up. It's good to visit your venue at the time of year you plan to marry or look up typical weather to see what you could be in for.

A slightly shorter cut at the barber and an extra pass of hairspray can go a long way to keeping everything in place!
