I have made the tough decision to close S&C Events to focus on my family, and career aspirations outside of the world of events.
I have thoroughly enjoyed designing, creating and planning events the last 8 years and working alongside some incredible suppliers (plenty now that I call friends). Silk and Cedar has presented numerous opportunities, career highlights and fun times to me, which I will be forever grateful for. However, the time has come for me to now focus on spending weekends with my family and I am looking forward to building on my career and tackling new challenges.

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. I’m not sure how long has been intended to be in my life for, but what I do know is that she has made a lifetime impression. Bethie, you are so incredibly talented (I’ll miss your food 🥲), and your energy in the kitchen has been amazing to watch, as is your leadership. I wish you every success in your next venture and will definitely be bringing Ava to visit you for ice cream treats! Love you lots Chef Bethie 💜🦄😘

Today at the events team had the Chefs doing multiple event meals, all different menu’s, all at the same time. And this amazing team of Chefs smashed it! I have worked in this industry for over 18 years (I know right!! 😳), and I can honestly say that I have never had the pleasure of working with such a wonderful bunch of chefs. Not only are they all incredibly friendly, fun and loveable - but their food is next level awesome! Thank you so much for delivering your incredible food and menu’s to some very happy guests today.

I’ve been following for a while now, not just because she’s South African, or that she’s a neuroscientist and her work really interests me, or that I am in this space to help my daughter and to be a better Mom. But because, at the end of the day I want to be the best version of me, for me (and my family). And I just love Caroline’s message - this one really resonates with me. Because you can’t always make everyone happy. You can’t always please everyone and you can’t always be responsible for disappointing someone because of your choices. That’s on them. I’m trying to elevate my daughter with this lesson at the moment. She is not responsible for other kids actions nor can she change others kids behaviours. All she can do is work on being the best version of her little self 💜🤍💛

Thank you for having Ava and I at your Mum + Daughter retreat these last few days. We loved our time together, meeting and making new friends, the yoga, meditation and sound therapy too! It has been wonderful, thank you so much and 😘🤗🍁🍄🔥…. The venue was gorgeous too, thank you we loved snuggling up in our glamping tent together 🏕

My daughter and I are heading to the Mum + Daughter Retreat tomorrow! Ava is so excited she has planned every outfit (for us both 😳🤷🏻‍♀️😅)… even to the matching pj’s. We won’t be on socials for a few days as we enjoy this special - no technology - event together.
