The fabulous Yigal Kitchen catering will be available for wedding and other event catering in 2026!

(I’m going to miss dropping in to his shop on 7th St and picking up delicious ready-to-go meals though … 😔)

The music at today’s funeral of Mrs Christine Shalders was very special …recordings of Chris singing were played.

When she was a professional musician she performed with people such as Chad Morgan, Lee Kernaghan, Slim Dusty, Smoky Dawson, Adam Harvey and Kasey Chambers.

Her many grandchildren gave her a guard of honour, and her favourite colours of pink and blue were included in the beautiful flowers.

Everyone was invited to wear a hat at today’s funeral for Tristram Lock (he was known as ‘The Man With a Hat’).

Even Angel from Lilo and Stitch donned some headwear. 👒

May his spirit find rest.
May those who loved him
Feel his presence in quiet places -
Not gone, just changed.

May light and love enfold him,
And may we carry his memory forward
With tenderness and grace.

This morning we gathered to honour the life and spirit of a remarkable woman —an Elder, a matriarch, an artist, and a keeper of stories and wisdom.

Her journey was woven into the land, the people, the community, and the Dreaming. She guided generations with her strength, her creativity, and her love.

She was a bridge between past and present, carrying the voices of ancestors and passing them on with grace.

Her hands held the stories of this land, her heart held the love of her family, and her spirit held the resilience of her people.

Friends tell me I always stand in some weird ballet position for photos with my feet in 4th (yes, I did ballet in another lifetime … but this is not intentional!)

So … just to prove them wrong … the lovely Jye from photography_productions took this on Saturday.

(It’s a very awkward way to stand!)

I usually go up to the groom before a wedding and offer him mints and a couple of tissues (in case anyone gets emotional!!)

Kyle responded with ‘nahhhhh - I’ve got a rag!’

His thoughtful wife had gifted him a personalised
‘Wedding Day Sweat Rag’ as he was worried he would get hot and sweaty in his suit.
