This merkaba, a sacred geometry symbol, was a fun challenge - the blend of lines and the curve of a pregnant belly is an interesting mix! 😁
It is always a pleasure to adorn mamas so that they may be celebrated. I hope you had a great baby shower, T - thanks for having me (and providing the OG Pokemon background entertainment!). 🤎

Oh, how I do love a chill with fabulous women who are coming together to circle round the wonderful mama-to-be. 😍😍
P.S. One guest came pre-hennaed, so I had a chance to snap a before and after paste comparison, too! (FizzBubble Face Painting, is that your work?)

When COVID struck, the henna bookings understandably dried up quicker than a batch of natural paste left uncovered on the counter on an Adelaide summer's day. :'(
.. But, I'm excited to say that it looks like the henna season is back on, and folks are back to making party bookings for baby showers, hens' nights and other celebratory gatherings. :D
As a recent example, here are some beautiful action shots taken recently by one of our extremely talented local artists, Tsering Hannaford.

Beautiful hands and people, henna as an impromtu trust building exercise between friends, and drones. Lots of drones... It's all just business as usual at the Lot Fourteen Stone & Chalk xmas show.
What a great community - so glad to be a part of it. 😊

Trying to nip a cold in the bud - figured henna in bed won't hurt. 😁

Normally I'd be headed to the Adelaide Show around about this time of year to sling henna in the stall alongside Linda and ... Obviously, 2020 has changed that.
So, Show Day this year was spent at home doing henna in bed - it seemed like a nice substitute.
P.S. Miss your faces and the laughs, Linda and Em. Time for the next round of Balderdash? ❤

It was an honour and pleasure to freestyle flower my friend's fine hand ahead of her nuptials today.
May your love fill each other's lives like the dried henna paste you'll find throughout your house this morning. ❤😂❤

My youngest always gives me the most random briefs... For this one, she wanted "A star here, a diamond here, and swirls here." 😂
Still, there are worse things one could do while stuck in self-iso, hey? How are y'all keeping yourselves amused?

❤ Thank you for having me back in the henna tent, . Your hard work to set things up is always appreciated. 😊 It is an honour sling henna alongside such fabulous artists, and the people who visit us are extra groovy, too. ❤

What made you get into this?
This has to be one of the most common questions I get from clients.
I first encountered henna at a Big Day Out event in the late 90s, and have been a complete addict ever since. After tiring of chasing festivals in order to ‘get another henna’, I decided to learn the art of henna for myself - after a couple of workshops with local artists who initially ‘showed me the ropes’ and inspired me to keep going, I honed my skills through practice, trial and error, and consistent commitment to the art form.
I am now an established local henna artist with more than five years' professional experience, using my own 100% natural, hand-mixed paste. I like nothing better than continuing to learn about this medium, its history and use, and spreading the henna love with other body art enthusiasts in the community.
These days I team up with other amazing artists at events such as WOMAD and the Adelaide Show, and you might find me at occasional markets (stay tuned to my page for updates!). I have also run henna workshops on demand for groups through local councils.
I offer limited available private bookings for birthday parties, mother blessings, hens’ nights and other special occasions.
Yours in henna appreciation,
Tessa x
