Have your say! We want to hear what you think about a plan to phase out problematic single-use plastics.

Single-use plastics are plastic items designed to be used once then thrown in the rubbish.

It is estimated that 160 million single-use plastic items are used in Tasmania each year and they can take hundreds of years to break down.

Some of the items proposed to be phased out include drinking straws, beverage cups and stirrers, and takeaway food containers.

Phasing some of these items out will help protect the environment and the health of Tasmanians.

Tasmanians can start making change now by choosing reusable coffee cups, lunch containers and utensils.

As a mother, I wanted to create magical celebrations full of joy, but I couldn't ignore the mountain of waste left behind. This sparked a realisation that there had to be a better way to celebrate life's special moments without compromising the planet's future. That's how Circlarity Events Co. was born, with a mission to provide sustainable, eco-friendly party solutions that create unforgettable memories without waste.

🌏 Reflecting on My UniGO Malaysia Adventure! 🌏

Earlier this year, I was incredibly fortunate to embark on a life-changing journey with UniGO through the University of Tasmania. For 18 days, I explored the vibrant culture of Malaysia, from the breathtaking views of Penang Hill and the immersive experiences in George Town to the serene beauty of Langkawi and the rewarding moments spent volunteering at a local dog shelter.

One of the most unforgettable experiences was planting mangroves in Kedah—a reminder of how vital it is to protect and nurture our environment. This journey reinforced my commitment to sustainability and the importance of creating meaningful connections with the world around us.

Coming home to my sweet daughter Izabella, who had stayed with her wonderful auntie during my trip, was the perfect ending to this adventure. She welcomed me with open arms and a handmade sign that melted my heart.

This experience has deeply influenced my work with Circlarity Events Co., where our mission is to create sustainable, memorable events that bring people closer to nature and to each other. Whether it’s through our DadFest Adventure Guide or our eco-friendly party packages, we aim to make every celebration an opportunity to connect with loved ones and the environment.
