Fran Connelley is a Sydney-based artist who paints in acrylic on canvas. She has a passion for capturing the shifting light, moods and sensuality of the Australian coastline.

Fran developed her skills with the support of Canadian artist, Paul Miller at the Ku-Ring-Gai Art Centre, and Australian artist, Richard Byrnes at the Waverley Woollahra Art Centre.

The recurring themes of her work are water, light and energy. Over the last 12 months she has begun to explore the cathartic relationship between women and water and the image of the pool as a place of renewal.

The perfect painting course for beginners starts on Saturday 26th of July with Fran Connelley! Build your skills over five workshops or pick the sessions that suit you best. 🎨

In session 1 you will learn how to create dazzling colours with underpainting:
- how colours impact each other
- understand the role of underpainting
- creating sizzle and calm with underpainting
- you will complete a simple abstract painting

Looking forward to exhibiting with 6 members of Creatives Connect at the beginning of August. We are a small collective who get together to support, encourage and inspire each other in our art practices.

We are exhibiting at the wonderful Into-Arts Studio + Gallery in a pop-up exhibition from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd August. We will be having an opening celebration on the Friday evening where you can meet the artists and enjoy the beautiful works on display.
