THIS IS ME, MELANIE.

It has been a while since I introduced myself.
Here are some snippets of who I am.

I am a florist of 11 years. I originally trained in the natural therapies field (many moons ago). My love of flowers grew stronger over the years, until it eventually led me into the florist industry. I trained professionally through TAFE and then developed my skills until I found my very own style that encompassed my love of antique china and fresh flowers.

I began Mayflowers with a crisp $20 note. It was a challenge to myself to see how far my $20 note would take me.
I bought a bunch of flowers, added foliage and wrap and then resold it. I traded all the way up to where I am today.

FAVOURITE FLOWER - Delphiniums in either pale blue or mauve.

My love of teacups began at a very young age when my Grandmother would let me use a small, pretty floral teacup that my Mum had used when she was small. I always felt so grown up sipping tea from it.

MY IDEA OF THE PERFECT GIFT- Gift baskets.

Gift baskets are something that I have always loved giving.
Including them in my business was a must.

Over the years I have gifted many gift baskets to family and friends. It is a warm sentiment and full of thought.
A beautiful wicker basket, a good book, fresh flowers, hand creams and other sweet treasures is perfect in my eyes.

CRAZY CAT LADY -

Yes that's me !
My two cats 'Bluebell' and "Pearl' are my heart.
I honestly don't know what I would do in a home with no cats.

DISABILITY AWARENESS -

Is a very strong passion of mine. Mayflowers supports a local disability support team - Godfather Espresso who do all of our flowers deliveries. These beautiful people deliver our flowers with huge smiles, warm hearts and so much excitement. They truly spread love and happiness wherever they go.

MY MANTRA - Always be kind

FAVOURITE FOOD - Acai bowls and banana bread.

TRUE LOVE -My high school sweetheart of 30 years and our four beautiful children. They make my life worth living.

MY BEST ADVICE - It's never too late to follow your dreams.

Thomas and James were recently married up at Goosewing Cottage. Their flowers were stunning !
I thought it was a great time to show you all what flower ideas can be used for other couples who marry up there.

The wedding gazebo is set in the pristine Goosewing grounds at Mountview, with rolling hills and epic sunsets as the backdrop.
The guys chose a yellow, bluey grey and white colour scheme for their florals.
The gazebo was styled by Goosewing and Mayflowers made a stunning native arrangement for their signing table. It was the perfect framework to accent their nuptials and the pics looked amazing.

Teacup posy class this morning was so much fun. It was chilly, so we turned the heater on, lit a candle for ambience, sipped tea, enjoyed scones, jam and cream and created from the heart.
It was the perfect way to spend the morning.
