EILEEN CIKAMATANA - 2024 IWF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Just four months after the Paris Olympic Games, Eileen Cikamatana turned on a medal-winning performance at the IWF World Championships in Manama, Bahrain. Taking the Snatch Bronze medal with 113kg and winning Silver in the Clean & Jerk with 144kg, her Total of 257kg secured the overall Silver medal in the 87kg category.
Following the Paris Olympics, Eileen and Coach Paul Coffa thought long and hard about the next chapter of their weightlifting story. This latest world-class performance makes it clear that the dynamic duo have their sights firmly set on that exalted podium at the LA 2028 Olympic Games.

Eileen Cikamatana - #allezaus
Eileen Cikamatana grew up in a small village in Fiji where she started weightlifting at the suggestion of a school teacher. The weightlifting prodigy helped her father carry around animal feeds on their farm in Levuka, a small village in Fiji. Her dad owned pigs and the then 11-year old Eileen would offload 50kg sacks of animal feed and other goods from his truck.
Eileen won the bronze medal in the women’s 81kg category at the IWF World Cup 2024 in Phuket, Thailand. There she fulfilled the final qualifying criteria to be eligible to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she will be looking to add an Olympic medal to her triumphs.

Jacqueline, who played a host of sports before taking up weightlifting in 2019, described her Olympic qualifying campaign as a rollercoaster.
“The beginning of the Olympic qualification was tough because I went into it after doing smaller competitions to, ‘here, you’re on the big stage, good luck’,” she said.
As Jacqueline prepares for her first lift as an Olympian in the Women’s 71kg class on 9 August, she said the doubts she experienced in Saudi Arabia were long gone.
Kyle Bruce - #allezaus
Kyle started weightlifting in 2017. At the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, the boy from Blacktown won silver in the 81kg division. Kyle dedicated the medal and performance to his late father, who passed away in 2015.
He has since made the transition to the men’s 89kg category, where he is set to compete in at Paris.
