Often I'm asked ‘why did you become a Celebrant?’ What really made my mind up to do it was after being at a wedding & arrogantly thinking ‘ I could have a crack at that’ combined with hearing so many friends say they struggled to find a younger Celebrant they could relate too. I have developed a great passion for wanting to help couples have the ceremony they desire, not feel like it was being dic

tated to them. 10 years later I am certainly no longer arrogant but very respectful about the role of a Celebrant (but disapointed that I am still not able leagally to marry same s*x couples!)- and grateful to have such an awesome job! I have the best seat in the house at every wedding I go to, I see every secret smile, chin wobble, quickened breath, slow sliding tear and hand squeeze my newlyweds share – and I love it! It is not unusual to hear my voice waiver or at least see my face split in a ridiculous smile as I pronounce a couple husband and wife, no matter how hard I try to keep it in check. When couples first contact me I always recommend a meeting so we can chat and they can then decide if I am the right Celebrant for them. Your wedding day is one of the most amazing and precious occasions you will ever share together, it is important you are confident in the Celebrant you select to guide you through your ceremony. Also an ideal base for your Yarra Valley wedding accommodation or pre-wedding getaways ( only 30 mins to the wineries of Seville!) The lovely Holly of .ranges.getaways took me on a tour of these properties today (Greenways, Boyanda & Winter Rose) and tbh, I fell in love 😍 with each of them!! From contemporary to deco, views for forever & all with beautiful gardens. I can’t believe this is literally just next door to our Yarra Valley! Wedding vendors keep these great options in mind for your couples 💕

Like I know platters are sooo ‘lockdown’ but had to do one to celebrate 🎉 mine & Demolition D Snrs 14th wedding anniversary! It’s a long time since we stood under a fig tree in Mullumbimby declaring our ❤️in front of our favourites, proudly refusing the legal ceremony we could have just because we had different bits & vowing to wait till marriage equality 🌈 . Yep marriage equality happened 👏🏻 .. and one day we WILL sort our legals…anyone know a good Celebrant? 😆 Still love 💕 you Dyly & here’s to our next wedding! 🥂

I don’t know about other Celebrants but I have a ‘hit list’ of ‘couples I will marry one day’ & these gorgeous humans were at the top of that list… for a while 😉…until Friday 🎉 It was my absolute pleasure to present the O’Keefes to their family & friends so ready to celebrate this fabulous couple, and the beautiful family & life they have made together. This morning we went above the clouds to leave the fog & find the sun ☀️ for Kat & Sonja’s wedding. I love that Sonja is a notorious user of the snooze 💤 button but their wedding was at the earliest part of the day! 😆 Yet this was the best way to ever start a day 💕Way up in the sky floating over the Valley we had ❤️ 😂 & lots of 🎤 💃 👏🏻. Thank you so much for including me in a perfect wedding 😘😘

Yarra Valley Autumn 🍂 perfection! These two sparked off their true ❤️story at the Alexandra speedway with a comment over zips v. laces workbooks. We celebrated them in Jamie-Lee’s parents gorgeous back yard in Gladysdale & their baby Harry was the cutest, most chill ring bearer ever. Lots of smiles, laughs, hugs & happy tears at this one 🥰 best way to finish my (on the ground, next one is in the air) wedding season! Bonus was they are besties with one of my fave couples who were in the bridal party & I got to work with the fabulous again!
