I wrote this message to my clients in March 2020. Clearly thinking we'd be far ahead of the game by now. The events industry was one of the first industries to be hit hard by this pandemic and is still struggling with little or minimal support by the state and federal governments.
"Wow we sure didn’t see this coming! First and foremost, our thoughts are with those who have been affected by COVID-19 in this unprecedented and challenging time.
Limax Events started up during the GFC; everyone thought we were crazy! 13 years later here we are running a successful venue sourcing business - thanks to all our loyal clients and suppliers.
Well the world has changed. One of things we’ve noticed the most over the last couple of days/weeks amid all the pandemonium is the love and care extended by those around us. These times bring out the best and worst in people.
We love that our clients have sent messages of love and concern; we have received many messages and calls from our industry friends and colleagues – most of whom are in same situation, but they are still reaching out to check on each other. We have always loved the meeting and events industry, and these are just some of the reasons why – the people.
We remain positive that face to face meetings will be even more vital than ever before, once this settles down. And it will settle down. We are all going to appreciate the things like we take for granted like shopping, eating out, going to the pub, playing sport, kissing, cuddling, shaking hands, attending parties, festivals, weddings, birthday parties and footy games, going to the movies, theatre, museums, galleries, parks, wineries and cafes, ..... and the value of being face to face with those we love and our colleagues and friends.
We will all come back stronger if we support each other. Let us keep doing what we do best, booking venues for your meetings and events. We know you not going to organise a meeting in the next couple of weeks, but we can plan for future.
Booking an event helps so many companies and suppliers and their staff including venues, AV companies, speakers, entertainers, theming companies, caterers, team building companies, MC’s, DJ’s, florists, event managers, food and beverage staff, cleaners, house keepers, photographers, videographers….the list goes on …and of course venue finders.
Face to face events is what keeps your team together and our industry alive.
