Some reflections on 2024

I am forever thankful for the continued opportunities to create edible memories for you all, through cake, cupcake and cookies.

Over 5000 cookies, over 1400 cupcakes, 40 weddings and over 60 birthday, celebration or corporate cakes. Plus over 1200 cupcakes/muffins and dozens of cakes donated to charities and community groups and volunteering hours

This year has taught me a lot, it has also taken a lot.
While I reflect on these stats being lower than i would usually have made in a year (with wanting business growth), I was however able to reflect happily on having many weeks off throughout the year with my family and this is worth more than a number of cupcakes baked.

I am learning that it is ok to say no. I am learning that i need to take care of myself before orders. I will only have kids as my 'little people' for a short time, so this is what my focus was for 2024 and will continue into 2025. Especially with Kindy for Mr5!

I do hope to have a new employee in 2025 but am leaving this to the universe to tell me when the time is right.

I am truly sorry for the number of times i have started an email with 'Apologies for the delay' but in reality, i cant be everything at once and i am working on this to better use my time online in the new year to keep up with it all.

THANKYOU all from the bottom of my heart for the support, likes comments, recommendations and the words of kindness shared.

A kindness tale of the thank you cookies

In amongst the madness of December my 92 grandmother asked for 2 sets of "thankyou and Merry Christmas" cookies.

She wanted to gift them to her regular Doctor and Nurse as a token of her appreciation. The gratitude the recipients showed truly made my day hearing about it a few days later.. It's a small token but when effort is put into something, no matter how large or small, it's always appreciated.

It inspired me to give a gift voucher and cookie to our Schools lollypop lady. Someone who deserves some Christmas love and appreciation from the students she keeps safe every day. I also like to make sure the Librarian, Office staff and Cook at preschool are thanked. As they too are behind the scenes workers who make a big difference to our kids lives!

Remember this Christmas to give a token of thanks to someone who has helped you. Doesn't have to cost a lot of $$ but the value of its worth will no doubt be huge! Kindness is key!

Hi everybody
I wanted to give you a quick update on things in headquarters:

Sadly, I'm still behind in my emails but on Wednesday my plan is to get myself organised as I'll have a bit of breathing room on this day before the weekend hits again

My son 👍 is thankfully going back to school tomorrow (Woohoo!), it sure has been a very long week but I really do appreciate the messages of support and kindness in understanding with shifting around pick up times for Christmas cookies and other orders.

I'm not taking on any new orders at this stage but if the Stars online and I have some free time I will definitely pop up a post about being available to take on new orders. I usually do bake extras for teacher and Christmas cookies so just keep an eye on our page and stories in the lead up to Christmas.

Please arrive on time for pick up times, as we do have a lot of external things happening in Dec, so I appreciate you being prompt to your collection times we discuss.

I love being apart of our local community and giving back as often as I can is a core value of

It was a pleasure to help the team at with their celebration cake for the volunteers event held today. Free reign on the design, I went with their mint green and pink featured in the logo and of course finished with some gold sparkles and sprinkles ✨

It's been wonderful to see the growth and support for The Formal Project over the last 2 years, and look forward to continuing to support them in 2025.

🍟🍔 The 1am burger feast! 🍔🍟

I was going to create a fancy canva created image to give an admin update tonight on where things are at,but honestly, my body is screaming for sleep tonight so you get reality! 😉

This week hasn't gone to plan. It was exhausting by Monday night! My eldest smashed his thumb in his cupboard door and we ended up spending 7hrs in Urgent care clinic / ED at the hospital. Not being allowed to eat or drink, by the time we left about 12.30am, we hit up the McD's drive thru (it's hard to tell a growing boy not to eat or drink!). Thankfully L slept well without too much discomfort and I finally passed out at about 2am after a few tears and so many thoughts on the brain..

Fairfield hospital hand clinic and an existing ENT appt today and now needing surgery on Thurs it's been a week already and I've barely looked at emails!!
2 weddings, Christmas events, cakes and cookies and and and and.. the to-do list is long, but my list of support people is longer and I'm so so so incredibly thankful for them! We will get through this week just like many more past weeks before this one!

I do appreciate the patience of those waiting on invoices and email replies and hopefully by Friday I'll be up today (because it's likely I'll do a lot of forced sitting/waiting on Thurs!🤦‍♀️)

Quick reminder that I'm now fully booked for Dec weekend cakes.
Jan I am having time off with the boys.
So will be back on deck in Feb (but will share more on that later)
