Summer wildflowers in a box

Zinnias have become wildflowers in my garden. They receive very little attention and continue to come again with their colourful cheer. Here I've mixed them in with strawflowers and statice and a few other bits and pieces including cassinia, johnsons grass and queen anne's lace growing wild on the roadside where I live.

If you're after a wildflower look on a budget, I recommend these types of ingredients. If you want something easy to grow yourself - try zinnias :)

Did I mention how much I love jam jar posies and wooden boxes :) Our young scented rose bushes keep on giving and giving and I love using their short stems this way. Looking lovely with westringia and feijoa foliage.

Nestled in the bush, down by the creek, in a pioneer hut with rain on the tin roof. The kettle's on and homemade treats straight from the oven. This was the setting for our bush Christmas workshop at Diamondvale Estate, Stanthorpe
