Nestled in the bush, down by the creek, in a pioneer hut with rain on the tin roof. The kettle's on and homemade treats straight from the oven. This was the setting for our bush Christmas workshop at Diamondvale Estate, Stanthorpe

Handmade candles by Serene’s Chandlery and rustic wooden boxes by Warwick Men's Shed Inc and most important of all - good company. Thank you so much to everyone who made it a wonderful wonderful morning.

If you'd love to make your own natural arrangement this Christmas head to my workshop page for more details www.thelongpaddockflorist.com.au/workshops

We gathered at Katie's Cocktail Cafe on Saturday and these clever ladies wrangled wild vines and wove their own wreath bases in the warm afternoon sun. Each one so unique and will last for years to re-decorate throughout the seasons.

I think winter is now officially my favourite season to make wreaths - a lot less sweat, flies and mozzies than at Christmas time :)

Rachael from Diamondvale Estate, Stanthorpe organised a private bush floristry workshop for her guests. It was an absolutely delightful morning - a pioneer hut on the creek, invigorating winter air, a walk in the bush garden (with secateurs), a great bunch of people, our timber troughs to arrange in and we were all set. Oh and delicious morning tea by the open fire. I didn't want to leave :) How beautiful does Rachael's arrangement look in the homestead.

Thank you to the Warwick Men's Shed Inc for making these rustic timber troughs (my new favourite vessel to arrange in) :)

A favourite tip for saving money on wedding flowers - consider making your own table arrangements. Something simple, like jam jar posies, always work, and can be a fun and meaningful thing to do with your nearest and dearest. They're also easy to move about and gift afterwards. Little rippers!

If you're thinking about D.I.Y. wedding flowers take a look at our upcoming workshop at Glenelg Station https://www.thelongpaddockflorist.com.au/shop/p/diy-wedding-flowers-a-bush-floristry-workshop-at-glenelg-station
