Turns out The Ottomans loved French Baroque architecture too, so we have that in common.

I feel like I've only scratched the surface of what Türkiye has to offer. As an avid lover of history, there's no doubt I'll be back. Documenting this beautiful world is my souls calling.

French Baroque architecture will never cease to inspire awe within me. we were so lucky to find a lil slice of Paris right here in little ol Adelaide for the first workshop back in 2023

posting on socials has felt weird lately

i think i put a lot of pressure on myself

i share work i love and that im proud of, but if it doesn't please an algorithm, there's radio silence, which can feed into the imposter syndrome a lot of creatives experience

it's hard balancing creative fulfilment vs. running a business at times, but im finding more and more that as long as i remain authentic and integral to myself, things just have a way of aligning

On Friday, I wrapped up my 2023/2024 wedding season with the beautifully intimate elopement of Ashley and Karl in one of my favourite locations, the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.

Ashley enquired with me on three separate occasions! Between all of the different plans and ideas they had for their day, a beautiful daughter joined Ash and Karl on their journey, and a new home was made. Sometimes life gets in the way of life, but third time’s a charm, and I’m so glad things finally aligned for us.

As I settle in for another editing day with a warm cup of coffee and my catssistant close by, I've realised what has made this wedding season different from previous years.

There's a merging of worlds. Specifically, fashion, at the forefront of trend trajectories; and the wedding space, which hasn’t historically been known as an early adopter of style trends.

However, this season, the latter seems to no longer resonate. Weddings seem to now walk hand-in-hand with the fashion industry, setting new style trends and combining very posed and produced imagery with true documentary style photography, which has almost a BTS feel in the final wedding gallery.

I feel like there’s been a collective shift after what we’ve all experienced over the last 4 years. I'm seeing couples being so much more intentional about how their wedding day looks and feels, keeping traditions that hold sentimental value to them while letting go of customs that don't align with them. There’s producing and editing happening before we even get to the wedding day.

I’m seeing couples that truly value spending quality time with the guests they've chosen to invite, and have prioritised capturing the true felt experience of their wedding day, rather than checking boxes they feel they ‘need’ to.

I’ve loved this season for so many reasons, and I believe the golden thread tying those reasons together is the fact that the experience is now paramount. These intentions set before the wedding means the day itself unfolds in a beautiful way that makes for great documentary photography. These are the moments that you’ll always remember but never get back. These are the memories that you’ll always cherish and reminisce about. These are the days of our liv— wait...

But no, really! These experiences are what bring richness and fulfilment into our lives. They make being present easy. They make time feel like it’s moving a little slower. And they make us remember that at the heart of it all, our reason for being is connection, in all of its beautiful forms.

So connect, laugh, rejoice, cry. Feel everything to your best ability, because that’s what I’ve loved capturing this season.

Oh hey there! Posting to the grid again? Who is she?!

Wedding season has been in full swing since September last year and between capturing glorious celebrations of love, hosting styled content workshops with the talented team, running the business itself, and some intense family ‘stuff’ on top of that, some things just have to fall by the wayside and the first thing for myself and many other creatives is the social media hamster wheel.

Long story long, I’ve been juggling a lot, and as a one-woman-show, that was one ball that had to be dropped to keep the others going. I have a couple more gorgeous celebrations to capture before my season winds down and go into hibernation in the editing cave. But endings always create space for new to come in, and I’m so excited for the slower season and the opportunity it brings to share more of myself and what I create, and to finesse the business, invest into education and constantly grow and improve. Personal growth is a hamster wheel I highly enjoy being on.

What excites you most about the slow season and cooler months?

some of my favourite frames of Ali and Tom, which also highlight my love of full sun, blue skies, and direct light

i hear a lot of wedding photographers say that clouds are great and full sun is bad or that they don't like shooting portraits outside of golden or blue hour. while it's absolutely true that those lighting conditions make for very even and flattering light, my motto in recent years has been "shade is safe"

i adore shooting in full sun and working with the light because of its ability to showcase details, colours, and textures so much more than flat light, and these elements are so important to capture on a wedding day after years of planning.

the way light can separate and define a subject creates really interesting and dynamic frames that i love to focus on when im documenting a wedding day — or in this case, an workshop

golden hour goodness
otherwise known as: direct light minus the squint

I love taking my couples out at golden hour and blue hour to get some beautiful portraits in some of the most flattering light you'll see all day.

Dusk gives everything a soft glow. And there's a beautiful contrast that happens when you use the light directly as it washes you with golden light while the sky behind is very cool-toned and blue, which I love playing in to.

However, I also love the light that you get in the Australian summer at 4pm and 5pm ceremonies. I love direct light and playing with the sun, and there are many photographers who curse a blue sky, but alas, I am not one of them.

I love using light to highlight colours, details, fabric, and textures. It pairs so well with the editorial and documentary nature of my work.

Cocktail hour is always a favourite of mine to capture, and I love doing so candidly while you enjoy getting congratulated and hugged by your nearest and dearest after your I Do's!

I've said it once and I'll say it again: there's something so special about church weddings.

I'm Polish and I was raised Catholic, but as I grew up I let go of organised religion. I labelled myself agnostic for a really long time, and in the last few years I have become devoutly spiritual.

I no longer subscribe to the notion that abundance/creation/whatever label you want to use is anything external from us. I believe we are all creation. It all comes from within. As long as we are following our highest excitement and the things that bring us joy, then we are all essential to the creation and expansion of consciousness.

So, while I don't subscribe to anyone narrative, I do have a reverence for all religions and the teachings that we can learn from them. There are some beautiful sentiments and readings that I've heard at weddings, which I think offer incredible wisdom and guidance, especially living in the world that we currently do.

Love. Joy. Authenticity. That's all we need ✨️

swipe to see how fast your wedding day goes by →

which is why it's all the more important to capture the moments, both the big ones and everything in-between

i've always said i don't pose, i prompt. once i've got us in some delicious light, i'm big on letting you two interact with each other and capturing the synergy and chemistry between the both of you with my observant eye.

i believe in letting things unfold naturally, keeping interference to a minimum and us all getting comfortable with each other to create photographs that have feeling.

i have limited availability for 2024 with popular 2025 dates booking up, so get in touch if this sounds like the magic you want to create on your wedding day.

i can't wait to hear from you!

some incredibly sweet words I received after delivering Mekha and Kiran's wedding gallery ↓

What made you choose me over any other photographer?

"There was a certain warmth and magic in the way you capture your couples - we saw it instantly when we landed on your Instagram page. We also particularly liked the tones and editorial style to your photos - it aligned perfectly with our vision for how we wanted our most precious memories of our wedding day to be captured."

What was the highlight of our whole journey together?

"Your attention to detail! No one can really prepare themselves for what their wedding journey will look like but for Kiran and I we are both BIG on being as organised as possible so it was so reassuring and helpful to have receive your emails along the way and feel like we were heading in the right direction, esp. in regards to timelines. We also have to say that meeting you on our wedding day and feeling the warmth and joy behind all those emails and phone calls was truly special as well - we felt completely at ease having you behind the lens, thank you for looking after us so well."

Did you feel I met or exceeded your expectations? If not, where did I fall short?

"Definitely exceeded all our expectations!!"

Is there anything else you'd like me to know?

"Just keep doing what you are doing Evelina - you were a breath of fresh air and pure sunshine on our wedding day! It was truly a privilege to be photographed by you. We are currently settling in to our UK home and it brings us so much joy to be able to put up all our incredible memories from the wedding - thank you for everything."
