Checking out a Sunrise location prior to one of my couple's request for a "private beach ceremony at sunrise", produced this amazing vista .

The difference between 'first light' and actual 'sunrise' was a beautiful surprise.
Can't wait for the actual ceremony morning to come and to see the faces of the bride and groom! ❤🌅

SAYING A FINAL GOODBYE TO YOUR PET:

One of the hardest goodbyes is saying farewell to a beloved pet.

Your grief can be so consuming. To have help in conducting a ritual of memories, can ease the pain, and help you to feel, and process some of the emotional feelings you are trying hard to suppress.
Walking away after a special goodbye service, will still hurt, but it will be the start of a time for healing if you are given the opportunity to bid your beloved pet a memorial service in honour of the devotion, love and fun times, that they shared with you.

I have been through that loss and sadness too, so know how it feels to lose a precious pet companion, and I now wish that I had had the opportunity to express my feelings and grief a little more upon this loss.
Contact me, an experienced celebrant of many years – Kay Earl at Cairns Pet Memorial Services c/- [email protected] - best by mobile or email, if you wish to discuss a private and personal ceremony for your deceased pet.

How lucky are you to be planning your wedding in such a diverse place as Far North Qld. So many choices! We have gone through a few months of hard times -weather and economically, but gradually we are smiling again! 😀🌼

I have over 20 years experience as a full-time marriage celebrant, loving ♥️ every minute of my chosen profession, and have become very involved in the multicultural community weddings as well, and met some amazing people.

So, whether you are on a tight budget - and many are these days, or you want a Resort style wedding, here are some ideas/places where I have helped couples celebrate their marriages over the past few months. And wherever you choose, remember it will be the best day of your lives, and I can always help with lots of suggestions to make it more affordable.

There are picturesque resorts such as the CAIRNS COLONIAL CLUB Resort with its beautiful garden, Sapphire Ridge above Palm Cove, the beautiful Malanda Lodge - lovely to rug up for in winter, picturesque Tinaroo Lake Resort , and for a little change the very 'Australian' Ringers Rest - RV Park , or even the historic and rustic Mountain View Hotel on the Gillies Highway.

Look too, at having a ceremony by a suburban creek, 🌿in a Park, a quiet beachfront🐚 is always magical, your own back garden /deck or a friend's home? And a new trend is to make good use of your local 🏫Community Hall 🏛 for an old-fashioned wedding ceremony with a party afterwards.

Be open to all that is available, and never be afraid to go with your heart and head when it comes to where you would like to say your Vows.

♥️ Good luck with your planning and call me ( 0419 799 637 ) if you would like a chat about your wedding ceremony, and any help you might need. 🌼Kay at Cairns Weddings 🌼🌼

If you are thinking of a wedding that is a little different or in keeping with your Budget, well…now is the time to put final preparations in place in organizing your wedding for 2024-2025. Yes, 2025 is now only 7 months away. 🤭😲

You don’t have to climb down a mountain or hang from a rock as seen in the photo link below, (a bush-walk would be nice!) but if you are looking at somewhere different, or your budget is limited, and you still want to have a wedding to remember as being unique yet special to you, give me a call ..... 0419 799 637 and do have a look at my website www.cairnsweddings.com.au .

There is so much you DON’T have to do to create your memorable wedding. In the last month, I had some very special weddings, that I was able to help with the planning as well, to ensure they were low-key, budget friendly and special.

Most memorable was a farm wedding down by the little stoney creek which flowed down from the mountain above us. Nothing to erect, no decorations, just the signing table by the stand of wild bamboo.

The bride walked through a grove of decades old tropical fruit trees as she made her way towards us who were waiting. 🌳🌳And as a bonus, a guest who didn’t do a Reading, but instead talked about the history of the farm, as well as some little anecdotes and how his family established the farm as very poor immigrants. 👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾

Such wonderful memories for us all! ❤

You could hardly top this venue though for a wedding ! ⛰😍😍Read the link, and look at the photos - courtesy of ABC News......... Finger lime farmer marries her mountain-climbing match at next-level ceremony in Glass House Mountains - ABC News .......
- about two climbers who said their vows as they abseiled down the rocky face. No mention of the celebrant but no doubt she/he was there somewhere! (Imagine if they had dropped the ring!! 🥲😲

Call me if you wish to discuss a low-budget and low-key wedding., or even if you are looking at something a little more formal in a home garden setting or even hiring a Community Hall and instead of gifts, everyone brings a plate and a gold coin towards the hire of the hall. A step back in Time, but a better step towards your Future and lasting precious memories!

Couldn't resist popping on the extra photo of very vintage Bridal frocks as displayed at the Gordonvale Settlers Museum.
😘 Kay.

What’s the difference between a Home Potting Shed 🪴🪴and a Grand Resort as a wedding venue. …. NOTHING but a WHOLE OF LOVE AND INSPIRATION. ❤⭐️
Nat and Sarangel, up from Sydney, told me they only had her parent’s backyard at Bayview, with a little creek and bush at the bottom, a few fruit trees and a couple of SHEDS!! 🏚🛖 We’d almost settled on the creek bank, but then THAT LITTLE POTTING SHED 🛖 of Nat’s Mum, just appeared.
Tucked behind an old fallen tree bedecked with vines,🌿 🌿and some bamboo, all it needed was a sweep out, move a couple of pots, place 10 chairs on the little deck that was intertwined with flowering creepers,🌿🌼🌿 fairy-lights turned on, (they were already there) 💫and WOW!, we had the sweetest little Storybook Potting Shed Chapel. 🍄🧚‍♀️✨
Well done Sarangel and Nat! And what a thrill (and memories) for her Mum! It was just all so, so beautiful! 🥰🥰

Congratulations and Mingalabar! again to Thu Aung and Htet Htet Aung Khine on becoming Husband and Wife in a beautiful ceremony in November.
What an honour to be gifted with a hand-embroiderd traditional Myanmar formal dress to wear and to keep by these two.
Such a wonderful family oriented community and I feel so privileged to have been able to get to know so many over the past year. So "Ta-de" and Happiness always!

Thank you so so much Alex and Stu for these kind words you are allowing me to share. 🙏🙏

Getting to know you a little over the year before your marriage, was a real privilege and joy, and sampling your Delicious Lemon Drizzle 💕🍋 cakes, was just the 'icing on the cake' for me. And how could I ever forget little Louis! Always a highlight of my visits.
Your wedding day was just magic.✨✨ Again, thanks for sharing those months and that day with me. xxoo

🌼🌼Well …. its been quite a while since I last posted about my weddings and my work as a Wedding Celebrant. With May – Oct being busy with wedding bookings and travel to some out of the way weddings, time has just flown.

3 years ago I could never have imagined the pace of weddings this year. And what a thrill it still is to be guiding my couples through the steps of ‘getting married”, and importantly to be able to connect with the most amazing couples and their families. Now that the borders have opened again, I have been able to again meet couples from Europe (France, Germany, Belgium), New Zealand, South America and so many others from all parts of Australia - cities and remoter areas.

Particularly, I have felt blessed ❤ to have been able to assist couples from Myanmar, Nepal and Laos to once again feel happiness, and for me to have been accepted into their communities.

All the while, discovering new places in my own backyard.

Weddings have been in home gardens, remote beaches, Chapels, mountain ridge homes, Resorts, Tableland Lodges where at one, it was 14 deg., but beautiful and misty, old wharves, in the bottom of gorges, bush settings such as last weekend in the Herberton region where the perfume of the Lemon scented gums filled the air, and the Wild River gurgled below.

Brides have made their entries barefoot (minding the snakes) through bush paths, 🌳🌲along beach sands with flowers in their hair, and in vintage convertibles. It’s been interesting too, that so many of marrying couples these days are looking at simple yet very personal ceremonies, and not kicking the “budget bucket”. Mature age couples are more and more now taking their long-term commitment to the higher level of marriage.

😍😍Love and Marriage is still just as important, whether you are a couple in your 20’s or a couple in your 60’s, or if you are heterosexual, gay or bi. Love is what helps the world go around, makes acceptance possible and brings joy to this universe.

I just SO look forward to my future weddings, I also hope you enjoy these photos, and it looks like the next 12 months will allow me to have many more experiences and people to meet.

✨💻✨Connect with me at www.cairnsweddings.com.au . I would love to help you, and to be a part (albeit small) of your wedding day and experience.

You don't need a special occasion ✨ to celebrate the natural beauty of North Queensland, but a couple of weeks back, not only did I have the chance to breathe in the tranquility of such a place, but also to be the celebrant for Alex and Phill as they stood on the deck of a most gorgeous home on the edge of the Palmerston Nat. Park, saying their Vows. ✨😘😘

💞Beautiful Alex had her mother read part of a Jasper Jones writing which embodied the feeling of all gathered ....."This might be one of those rare events that lasts, one that'll be remembered and recalled as months and years, wind and ravel. One of those sweet, significant moments that leaves a footprint in your mind. A photograph couldn't ever tell its story." ✨

Thanks Alex and Phill for sharing the place and the moment!
Your wedding certainly left a footprint in my mind. xx 😘😘

🌺🌺 What a wonderful surprise to be invited once again to officiate at a Thai/Aus wedding earlier last week - this time for the petite Bunyarak and Bruce.
Bunyarak , in her golden✨✨ Thai traditional wedding outfit, was made to look even more beautiful with the help of her work colleagues at Sawadee Siam Thai Massage Salon 🌸 on Mulgrave Road. 🙏🙏🌺

Raksi and all the girls, are all such gracious and caring people, and it was indeed a pleasure to reacquaint with them at this ceremony, and to help Bunyarak and Bruce have the happiest of days.

Have a life filled with love, Bunyarak and Bruce! 😍✨

Brooke and Nathan! 👩‍❤️‍👨💞
What a fun filled day you shared on your your wedding day. Thank You! 🥰🥰
The look of pure joy on Brook's face and the tears of joy that Nathan just couldn't control, said so much about these two.
This wedding had the lot ❤️ - laughter, kisses, hugs, joy, smiles, tears of happiness and more laughter. So now it's back to the NSW Central Coast to enjoy their newly renovated home.
So many congratulations and hugs to you both. 💞💞
