July’s birth flower is the delphinium/larkspur, a stunning bloom known for its tall, spiky appearance and vibrant hues ranging from deep blues to soft lavenders and whites, each hue carrying its own unique meaning. Delphiniums symbolize an open heart and a passionate connection with others. These flowers are often seen gracing gardens and bouquets, adding a touch of elegance and charm with their towering presence. Whether given as a gift or simply admired in nature, delphiniums bring a sense of joy and inspiration that perfectly complements the spirit of July. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Life is a garden, and I'm just here to pick the daisies.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Rhodanthe, everlasting strawflower + paper daisy... call them what you will they are some of our most favourite cold season flowers on the farm.

here's why we love them and think you will too:

-long vase life
-can be hung to dry
-come in various shades of pink with yellow and dark centres as well as white
-wonderful stem length

these will be some of the first flowers available to PYO and we will have seed if you want to try and grow along at home too.

Every day may not be perfect, but it's the perfect kind of chaos. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​its a tricky kind of balance, and I do a better job at it some times more that others. But these little moments where we are playing and having fun, I wish for the sound of their laughter to be forever etched into my memory.

Nine years (Tuesday) have passed since I wove my first floral tribute to life's end. My rational mind had no part in it. Instinctively It seemed only fitting that “her” mother would be the one to gather and do the flowers. Intuition guided my hand to pick hydrangeas, salvia, and buddleja from my mother's garden, and with a simple, yet heartfelt arrangement, I adorned my daughter's casket. As we bid her farewell, I could not have fathomed the significance of that moment, nor the inspiration it would impart years later.
This day taught me the remarkable ability of our hands to heal and integrate profound loss and trauma. In the depths of sorrow, the act of creation can spark a glimmer of hope, a reminder that beauty can be found even in the cracks of our pain. And just as we fill those cracks with golden light, so too can we begin to mend our broken hearts.
In the throes of creation, I stand at the cusp of bestowing a beautiful tribute and offering, kindled by the embers of my journey. With a heart filled with reverence and a glimmer of anticipation, I look forward to revealing more to you in the near future.
