Often the best way to ensure no unnecessary spending with respect to your wedding venue - is simply to have great communication with your venue manager…keep them well informed of guest numbers and your plans. They are a great asset.
To consider:
🌟 Venues may charge a hire fee, or they may have a minimum spend. Find out this information in your research. 🌟 The minimum spend is often easily achievable when you consider the food & beverage costs associated with hosting your event for a large group of friends and family.
🌟 Choose a venue that is the right size for your party. A venue too big may need a lot of styling to look impressive and the minimum spend may be higher. A venue too small may make guests feel uncomfortable.
🌟 Does your venue offer a cheaper deal on particular days of the week or is it cheaper to book during the 'off-season'?
🌟 Venues may offer wedding packages - you may not require everything in these packages so do not be afraid to enquire if a discount can be offered.
🌟 Do different catering options cost more? For example alternate meal service (every second plate is different), cocktail, sit down, platters, dessert table etc.
🌟 Does your venue allow you to bring in your own caterer or beverages? Keep in mind that it can be more expensive to bring in your own caterer.
🌟 Many venues offer all furniture, ceremony set up, audiovisual and more - finding out the inclusions of each venue may assist with your budget.
🌟 Avoid the upgrading of packages if the additional items are unnecessary, or you are happy to source these items elsewhere, are allowed to, and can be done cheaper.
