In the planning of this day, I asked Michael and Amanda to answer a couple of questions about what marriage means to them. Mick told me that marriage is building a life with his best friend. That person who he thinks about first thing in the morning and the last person he thinks about before he goes to sleep each night. Mick believes that Marriage is sharing everything with the one person who makes him want to be a better version of himself, the person who will laugh with him and smile during the good times and that one person who will hold his hand, cry with him, and hug him when things get tough. Michael told me that marriage is the comfort of knowing that he will never be alone again.

Amanda believes that marriage is being part of something with her soulmate; being a family; the start of a new chapter that they can write together. Going from me to us! Amanda says that marriage is being able to find that special someone that she can annoy for the rest of her life. Mick is that person. Amanda told me that Marriage is not always having the right words but knowing you don’t always need them.
