gogo events is an event design and management business. We produce stunning and memorable events that maximise event budgets to achieve meaningful workplace experiences to underpriviledged or marginalised people in society; engage community or not-for-profit organisations to produce event products; and source, return and reuse event products wherever possible.

We just loved working at Facing the Future: Living Well | Ageing Well | Dying Well last week.
The best and sharpest minds from several sectors across the aged care ecosystem came together to talk about this important stage of life.
These fabrics were reused at GOGO events until they were too well worn... so we donated them to the local Kindy! Now, they are living out a new creative life as artworks on fabrics, drying in the winter sun! 🌞
Great to be event managing the Business for Good conference, where we are being inspired by South Australian small businesses and social enterprises from a range of sectors and industries. Our CEO Sarah was a great speaker promoting our credentials as a social trader and social enterprise.

Happy International Women's Day.
This morning Sarah was asked by SEDA College to talk to young women.
It was a great talk and in it she shared some advice. Here it is;
1. Work can be so awesome. Work for a business, or create a business, that provides you with the flexibility and safety and fulfilment and challenges to help you grow. I’d recommend the ones that put people and planet right alongside profit so you can live to your values and know your time at work is creating a better world. They exist. Find them.
2. Apply for the jobs that stretch you and that you may not think you have the capabilities for, and when you are wowing the recruiters in your interview ASK for support for the things you don't yet know so you can grow
3. Build a sisterhood and don’t let anyone fall through the cracks. Bring everyone with you - especially those who have challenges be they social or emotional. Be brave and aware, and when things go wrong, as they will, support your people through these highs and lows. Your girlfriends will be with you through life - the friendships will be dynamic and change shape and form, but they are your protective force. They will tell you the truth when you don't want to hear it, they will support you when things get tough, they will also recommend you for new opportunities, introduce you to your life partners, look after your children, pick the kids up from school and they will keep you well. They are your number 1 wellbeing tool. The sisterhood is real and its value immeasurable.
4. Work really hard on yourself to be the best you can be. This can mean resting when you are tired. Exercising, or journaling, self acceptance of your uniqueness. Build habits that keep you well. Be kind and be compassionate to yourself and others around you as you learn and grow. Know your are enough.
5. Stand up for what is right and just and important and what will help create a better world., protect and honour the planet and all people,
And lastly
6. Be a lifelong learner. Notice what you don't know, where the gaps in your knowledge and experiences are, your assumptions, your biases, your privilege, and use these observations as learning opportunities to grow your mind, your understanding and your competencies - this is where all the fun, expansion and growth is. It will help you live a full and happy life.

GOGO events have been working with the Adelaide Festival for a number of years, coordinating the Tix For Next To Nix program, a part of the Open House program, proudly supported by The Balnaves Foundation.
The 2024 Adelaide Festival has begun and GOGO events has already had a presence at three events - incredibly lucky to have seen “Baleen Moondjan” on Glenelg (Pathawilyangga) Beach Wednesday and Thursday (last night’s sunset absolutely set the scene!) and today we are at Elder Hall for “Dancing With The Birds”.

Last night was kick-off and the GOGO crew were at two performances, friendly faces to assist anyone who needs some help….
This is the fifth year that the AF have run their ‘Tix for Next to Nix’ Program, with thanks to The Balnaves Foundation. It is also the fifth year GOGO have assisted them - this year we helped to move 2500 tickets to people who are marginalised, with limited access to attending such a wonderful event! What a huge impact this Program has on so many, including Janine who runs it - she says this event fills her bucket every year 💙
Our mothership and registered charity the GOGO Foundation has a new website.
