Ellen will never forget the day her little brother’s friend Jake went from being the cute kid around the corner, to a certified hottie.

It was around late high school and Ellen, a couple of years older than the boys, usually kept her distance when her brother David had friends over… but whenever she saw Jake’s handsome face, she felt her cheeks flush.

As it happens, Jake also had a crush on Ellen but back then, he thought she was so stunning that she was way out of his
league.

This romance actually started back in high school as fresh-faced 15 and 16 year olds.

Joe and Mimi were introduced at a series of gatherings and one thing led to another… They became MSN Messenger buddies.

Joe was quite a keyboard Casanova in their after school chats and eventually he asked her out on a date.

Mimi couldn’t resist Joe’s aroma of Lynx Africa…while Joe was really into Mimi’s fringe.

They lived only 10 houses apart, saw each other every 2ish weeks and Joe professed his love for Mimi using the lyrics to Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’.

But after 4 months Mimi dumped him on MSN Messenger.

Yet love works in funny ways because 7 years later, these OG online daters reconnected in the modern day on Tinder.

Once Mimi saw Joe’s saucy moves on the Retro dance floor, her heart beat 2-4-6.

2 gorgeous boys later, a lifetime of friendship and a loving family - they’re hitched 🎉

What am I doing in the off-peak season?!

Surprise, surprise, winter weddings aren’t so popular in dreary Melbourne town. So here’s what I’m up to in the “down time”.

- reclaiming my social life (I’m finally available on week nights and weekends for dinners, drinks & fun times)
- settling into our new home 🏡
- DIY home projects 🙉
- getting ahead of the admin for the latter part of 2024 and early 2025 🗓️
- meeting with remaining 2024 couples
- reading books (any recommendations?) 📕
- refreshing my marketing tools
- fleshing out what 2025 will look like
- enjoying whole weekends as a family 💕
- winter cold water immersions 🌊

The story behind my bow… Some may think I wore a bow on my wedding day as a fashionable choice but as a sentimental person, the bow has deeper meaning.

As a child, my mum would always put ribbons in my hair. (Proof in the post) She was proud that I became known as the girl with a bow in her hair and let me tell you the collection of ribbons was lush! Velvet, printed, checkered, rainbow, and in every colour imaginable.

When we were shopping for my dress mum kept asking about a veil. Wearing a veil didn’t feel right for me but then I had the bright idea that a bow would.

I sneakily bought it to my final dress fitting and as I went into the fitting room and came out for the grand reveal I’m pretty sure mum squealed with delight! A bow! How perfect!

A reminder to include things in your wedding day that aren’t simply fashion or what’s expected, but what feels like a true reflection of you 🎀

When Sarah walked into the Mulwala pro shop…
Hubba hubba this hunk of s***k daddy was dressed in an Elvis costume, chest out in butt-tight lycra… He was quite a vision!

And Sarah was impressed!

Within 3 days they were out for dinner on their first date. And it’s no secret, they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Locky says everything with Sarah just seemed to work right from the get go. Their relationship has simply flowed with ease and the understanding that as a couple they want the same things out of life.

They’ve gone on to start a family with two beautiful children, buy houses and move into their beautiful property in Cosgrove South. giving the children plenty of space to play and wonder, bringing them closer to Locky’s family farm.

To a lifetime of fun, laughter, family and dreams coming true! 🥂

For Selin and Engin it’s been a journey from
when they first met in a kebab shop all those years ago!

Back in the day, Selin was working in a kebab shop
alongside one of Engin’s best friends and groomsman, Ulas.

Engin came to visit the store a lot and when he did, he got to know Selin.

Selin clicked with Engin straight away. She was shocked at how easily their conversation flowed. She thought he was funny and loved speaking with him.

And…She might have had a tiny, little crush.

Over time, they became good friends and would often run into each other at Alumbra nightclub.

By this point, Engin was the one with the crush but he thought he didn’t stand a chance so they remained friends for a while longer.

It wasn’t until Selin took Engin out to celebrate his 22nd birthday that the friendship lines were finally blurred.

And to this day, friendship has remained at the heart of their relationship.

… Nicola who was there to watch this love story unfold, page by page, was the one to recount every milestone chapter of their romance in their wedding ceremony 😍

The minute Tiarnne saw Chris’ Tinder profile, she swiped right then took a screenshot and sent it to her girlfriends, stating that she had found her future husband.

Within days they were heading off on their first date. Chris picked her up and took her to a surprise dinner at no35 restaurant in the city. Cheekily, he told the waitstaff it was their 7-year anniversary, and they may have scored a free customised dessert to celebrate.

By no surprise they got along like a couple who had been together forever and they’ve never been apart since.

Many would say, they were always destined to be together.

And… almost 7 years later, they got married!

Happy birthday to Dean for yesterday…Dean is a big romantic and tends to go all out for anniversaries and special occasions. After 5 years together, 2 pups, 2 houses and a lot of road trips, Bree sensed a proposal might be in the making so she was on high alert.

Their anniversary came, but… no ring.
Her birthday came… again, no ring.

With no ring in sight, it became a running joke that Dean would go against the grain and propose at home.

On Christmas morning of 2021, they woke up early, eager to take the dogs for a run through the bush.

As they were getting ready to go, Bree was entirely in her own world, getting dressed, fluffing pillows and making the bed when she heard Dean shouting, “Bree, Bree, where are you?!”

She went to the back door and there was Dean, with the dogs by his side and a ring in hand.

He had been kneeling, but she’d taken so long to come, that by this point he’d begun standing up and was half-crouching.

There, in their backyard, mid-lunge, Dean asked Bree to marry him!

Phoebe and Riley’s love story is a teenage dream come true. It all began when Phoebe signed up for dance lessons in year 10…Little did she know that she was about to meet her future husband.

Equally, Riley’s parents, who ran the classes in his grandma’s dance studio had no idea that this particular round of weekly ballroom classes would soon see their son fall in love for the first and last time.

From these early days, they began to grow together. Over time, they’ve discovered who they are as individuals, transitioned into careers, and more recently became homeowners.

They’ve navigated all of life’s big moments side by side.

After over a decade together, becoming husband and wife was achieving yet another life goal together and stepping into forever with the person they love most.

Mel and Hayden first laid eyes on each other at Riva in St Kilda on New Year’s Eve of 2018. Mel was wearing a smoking outfit, naturally she caught Hayden’s eye.

Mel also noticed Hayden and although the night was young,
he looked like he’d already had a huge day and he seemed on the hunt for someone to dance with. Mel steered clear!

Hayden woke up the next day thinking of that hot girl he’d spotted. So, he went onto Instagram to see if he could find the girl of his dreams. And by the powers of geotagging and hashtags, he found a photo of Mel in that alluring outfit and he boldly liked it.

Only a matter of days later, Hayden took Mel on a date to Bang Bang in Mordialloc and quickly realised this girl was something special.

5 years later with two gorgeous sons, they got married, stepping into a lifetime as the beautiful they are!

For Danielle and Sean, getting married down the peninsula made perfect sense.

They both have fond memories of holidays in Blairgowrie and Sorrento. It’s very emblematic of their childhoods and of course, Sean proposed, in Sorrento at Coppin's Lookout.

Ultimately, whenever they think of their happy place, it’s here.

And now this destination holds more meaning than ever. It will always remind them of their wedding day and will become the backdrop for family holidays to come. Memories their children will go on to cherish as they grow.

These two got married on the same date, at the same time they met 3 years ago in the height of Covid restrictions.

Katherine walked into a park 5 kilometres from work to meet a stranger she’d met on Bumble, a stranger named Matthew.

It was a rainy Wednesday night. They both sat down on a park bench, wearing face masks.

Matt produced a thermos of tea and homemade banana bread and they made their 1hr outside time allowance stretch to 2-3hrs as they chatted with comfort and ease.

As it turns out, Matt’s choice of homemade banana bread and a thermos of tea was a 10 out of 10. It’s as if he knew Katherine is absolutely obsessed with tea and drinks a million cups per day!

Instantly Katherine knew Matt would be someone important in her life. And as cliche as it sounds… The moment Matt saw Katherine walking across the carpark, something struck him like lightning. It was unlike anything he’d ever felt before. It truly was love at first sight.
