Have you heard about 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒉𝒂? The most popular folk dance in Festa Junina.

The wedding ceremony and the 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒉𝒂 dance are important components of this folk festival of St John, St Anthony or St Peter. In fact, in the north of Brazil, it is still common for couples to want to marry during the Festa Junina which also marks the celebration of the harvest. It brings everyone together. The “fake” (or at times real) wedding ceremony is followed by the 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒉𝒂 which is part of the wedding celebration.

The 𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒉𝒂 is a narrative. So, don’t be afraid of participating because, on the day of the event, we will tell you what to do and when to do it. You just need to pay attention to the instructions as the commands will also be said in English.

There will be some pranks during the dance (especially when we take a “stroll around the farm”), where I may say “OMG it’s raining!” and you will have to protect yourself from the rain, which is what we usually do, right? Or I might say “Watch out for the brown snake,” and you will need to jump, because you don’t want to step on the snake, right?
Believe me, it is fun!

**This dance will be for adults, as kids are too small to participate.
** We can’t guarantee all attendees will be able to participate due to the venue space.

Festa Junina is a celebration that brings people together also through its typical and hearty food.
We will bring only some of the most traditional food (as it there is a lot!) but it will be enough for you to taste Festa Junina as it is.
Delicious food prepared with love and fantastic ingredients keeping the Festa Junina and the Brazilian tradition of good food. We hope you enjoy it!

𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑭𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 and we thought about sharing some ideas on how you could dress for the event and the background of this festivity. 🤩🥰

This post has some references, but you don't have to dress like that, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞, however, would be fun to see everyone engaging, especially because we have a 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 (in character, like you see in the pictures) for a couple. 🎉
