HOT TIP: FIRST DANCES

Does the idea of your guests watching you dance for 3mins kind of freak you out?

Stop stressin'! Our advice is to have a solid verse and chorus on your own, then invite guests up to join you on the floor. Bonus is there is also a full dance floor once you hit party time 😏

Also, we personally think your first dance is such a nice moment to slow down just the two of you. You have probably been swarmed by excited guests all day, it's nice to have a quick quiet moment to reflect as you sway.

HOT TIP: RECEPTION ENTRANCES

(When you enter as a married couple into the reception area. Traditionally this is a grand entrance, either with just you or with your wedding party/parents)

This can be WHATEVER you want it to be. Lovey dovey, groovin', cheeky, you name it!Our main advice is...just own it! Just like Alex and Cuong did here 😏

Just in case nobody told you...you also don't have to have one! If low key is more your vibe, just enter casually with your guests.

Guess what 2025 Brides and Grooms? It’s your turn! You’re getting married this year 😍😍

Blake and I are so so excited to be part of your days.

For anyone new here we thought we would do a quick reintroduction!

Say hi to Cassssss 🥃
- Cass is the gal you’ll be chatting to on emails, zoom calls etc.
- She started as a professional singer but, after 8 years in the wedding industry she’s now also an awesome celebrant, Dj and MC!
- She loves sass, sushi, scotch, teen drama shows, her labrador Maple and her two crazy kiddos (she’s got 2under2 folks, please send coffee!)
- Fun fact for country music lovers, she’s also played festivals all over Australia and be nominated for 3 Golden Guitars

- Blake started as just a man with a beautiful wife (Cass) but, is now a professional serenader - on guitar and vocals!
- Blake also plays guitar with artists at festivals all over Australia and has also been nominated for 2 Golden Guitars (yep, not 3 💁🏻‍♀️😏)
- Blake loves beer. In face, his day job is brewing beer all day long - doing God work 😉 He also loves spending time with his beautiful (and chaotic!) family

They have such an incredible talent at what they do and made our wedding day so beautiful and memorable. Everyone commented on their music and energy (despite the hot weather!) Sorry for the radio silence over here! The fam have been living out our holiday dreams in Japan!! 😍😍can’t believe we’re on holidays with our almost ONE year old 🤯. 🍁 HOT TIP // WHAT ORDER DO I DO MY DANCES IN?? 🍁

If you’re doing a family dance and a first dance as a married couple, there are absolutely no “rules”. Do whatever you want! Start your reception with your first dance, and end the night with it - it’s your day.

BUT, if you would prefer someone tell you what the ‘usual’ is, we recommend your family dance first and transition into your first dance. This also allows you to invite guests halfway through your first dance to prepare for boogie time.

🍁 HOT TIP // HOW TO GET A RAGING DANCEFLOOR STRAIGHT AWAY 🍁

If you want your dance floor to go OFF straight away…we recommend:

1️⃣ Ending your formalities with a cute as first dance - just you two to start with
2️⃣ Halfway through the song, Invite either your wedding party, family or just ALL couples to join you on the dance floor
3️⃣ Transition into a killer dance track
4️⃣ Dance the night away!

By doing this, everyone’s already up on the floor, so it’s much easier than trying to drag them up cold turkey! Woo!

🍁 HOT TIP // CAKE CUTTING 🍁

If you’re having a cake-cutting moment at your reception, we always recommend music playing! We’ll always ensure something plays, even if you haven’t chosen something. Nothing more awkward than a silent cutting of the cake 😅

Our advice? Having your cake cut to finish your speeches sums things up nicely, especially if you and your partner are the last.

If you both have a particular song you haven’t found the right moment for; this is a great moment to use!

🍁 HOT TIP // RECEPTION ENTRANCE 🍁

Traditionally, when you return from your photoshoot with your photographer, you can enter as a couple or with your bridal party into the reception to get the night started.

Our advice? Have fun!! Choose a song that’s all about a good time and come in with some energy. It can be your favourite dance song, a song about getting the party started, or just a fun song with a memory attached to it.

Fun fact, you don’t have to do an entrance! If the spotlight isn’t for you, you could just join your guests at the end of the canapes and come into the reception with everyone. There are no rules!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Please enjoy the cuteness overload that is our daughter Sophia meeting Santa for the first time 🎅🎄
