Completely new to Wollongong is the first story-based laser gaming platform to take your imagination to the next level. With interactive online engagement, you can form your teams, access your scores and monitor your progress online. Everyone can join the Revolution, with different levels, achievements and challenges for all ability levels.

Quick Tip Wednesday: Target the Sensors!

In most laser tag games, the sensors are located on the lit up parts of the suit + phaser. For better accuracy, aim specifically at these spots, as random shots are less likely to score. 🎯

Mission Briefing Special Ops Edition: Highlander

Game Overview:
Individual (Laser turrets off)
Game Length: 10 minutes

The aim is to try and eliminate all other players and be the last player standing.
Players have unlimited shots and missiles. At the start of the game, both shots and missiles fire very slowly. As the game progresses, shot and missile speed increases, but down time also increases.

Zapping players will build up special points, but the only way to eliminate an opponent is to missile them. When a player is removed from the mission in this manner, their score and special points are awarded to the player that eliminated them. Deactivating a broadcast tower will also award special points.

Special Abilities
Reset: Resets the player’s weapon, allowing a missile or another shot on an opponent who was just zapped. To activate, hold special button in while active. Costs 10sp initially, drops to 5sp towards end of mission.

Shield: Provides temporary protection from missiles. To activate, hold trigger in while down. Lasts until player is reactivated or 10 seconds passes. Costs 5sp initially, increases to 30sp towards end of mission.

Mission Briefing Special Ops Edition: Zombies vs Survivors

Game Overview:
4 teams + Zombies (Laser Turrets on) - 10 minutes
Players must attempt to survive against a growing number of zombies. Survivors must defend against both rival survivor teams and zombies.

Survivors gradually lose stamina as they are zapped by zombies. Survivors lose more stamina if zapped while deactivated and will immediately begin the infection cycle if missiled by a zombie. Once stamina reaches 0% the transformation process will begin, this process takes 45 seconds before the survivor is turned into a zombie.

Once infected, a survivor’s suit will start gradually turning green. Once the suit turns completely green, the survivor will become a zombie and switch teams. This can be stopped by activating a cure. Each survivor starts with 1 cure, and up to 2 can be held at once. Extra cures can be obtained by deactivating a broadcast tower. To activate a cure, simply press and hold the special button.

Zombies fire slower than survivors but are deactivated for less time. Zombies also have a limited number of lives, but they can be refilled by standing within range of a laser turret or by getting zapped by another zombie.

Mission Briefing Special Ops Edition: Gladiator

Game Overview:
Individual/2-5 team (Laser turrets off)
Game Length: 10 minutes

Players have a limited number of lives. The number of lives a player begins with depends on their level. When zapped, a player is deactivated and a life is lost. When all lives have been lost, the player is eliminated from the mission. Additional lives can be gained by zapping opponents and deactivating broadcast towers.

There are no special abilities available. All players are deactivated by a single shot from an opponent.

Try these strategies next time you are at Revo!

Cover and Concealment: Use obstacles and walls to your advantage, hiding behind them while periodically peeking out to shoot. This minimises exposure.

Flanking: Instead of attacking opponents head-on, move around the side or behind them to catch them by surprise.

Teamwork: Coordinate with your teammates, using roles like defenders and attackers. Communicate positions and cover each other’s backs.

Keep Moving: Staying still makes you an easy target. Constantly move to avoid being tagged and to stay unpredictable.

Target Sensors, Not Guns: Aim for the opponent’s sensors (usually on their vest), not their laser gun, as the gun itself won’t register hits.
