I'VE GOT MY WEDDING PLANNING SORTED, DO I NEED A WEDDING STYLIST TOO?

If you have the logistical side of your wedding sorted (ie. venue, catering, photographer, celebrant, etc) but the idea of putting a "theme" or "style" together (ie. florals, colours, linen, place cards, decor, furniture, signage, etc) gives you an anxiety attack, then yes, you need a wedding stylist.

WILL I ACTUALLY SAVE ANY MONEY HIRING A WEDDING STYLIST?

We work with you to source your styling elements within your budget. While we are not here to sugar-coat or mis-lead you on what wedding styling can cost, we also know the best way to be savvy with your wedding styling to create a styling concept that's uniquely yours. Expensive doesn't always equal jaw-dropping beautiful.

DO YOU PROVIDE A MOOD BOARD TO HELP ME VISUALISE MY WEDDING STYLE?

Absolutely we do! When we work together we create a styling concept which includes a very detailed document on how your wedding will look and feel in every element. We want your wedding to 100% reflect your personalities and wedding vision so we create mood boards showing you examples of florals, linen, signage, decor, furniture, everything in between to help you choose your the perfect styling elements for your day.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE TO I NEED TO BOOK YOU AS MY WEDDING STYLIST?

This one varies on a few factors but we prefer 9-12 months lead time to create your wedding style. Best to get in touch with us and we can chat this one through.

We have been getting a few messages asking "how do I start working with you?" So if this is you and you're keen to chat to us about our wedding planning, styling or coordination services, here's a run down of your first steps and how we create a personalised wedding package for you:

1. Head to our website mellyrain.com.au/contact and fill in an enquiry form.

2. You'll receive an email from us with our Price Guide giving you an overview of our services and our package starting prices.

3. We check our availability for your wedding date and if we are available, you'll get an email to book in a free discovery call with Melanie (our Head Planner & Stylist) to discuss your specific wedding needs in planning, styling and/or coordination.

4. Following your call with Melanie, you will receive your wedding package with your personalised inclusions and cost.

5. You let us know if you're keen to proceed and we start your wedding package inclusions. Easy!

So don't wait. Get in touch with us now. We have some availability left for the second half of 2025 and are now taking bookings for 2026 weddings.

It's going to be HOT few days and no one likes a sauna wedding! So be sure to read our tips on how to stay cool this weekend. Share this post for those who may need it today and tomorrow. And save it for for future reference, especially if you're planning a Summer wedding this year.

Wedding Planning tips for HOT Summer weddings!

- Opt for an indoor ceremony or at least one that is shaded! Think of you, your wedding party and guests and how long you will be in the heat for. Not fun for anyone!

- Get parasol and fans. Lots of them! Not only do they make super cute accessories for photos, but everyone will be thankful for them. If you can, order these well in advance or reach out to hire companies for last minute orders.

- Create a hydration station. Yes I'm talking water but make it icy cold water and don't be afraid to add in some icy poles in the mix. You're guests will love it!

- Add in some time to freshen up. A hot day is going to take it's toll on your look. The one you've spent hours perfecting. Have a makeup touch up kit on hand, makeup wipes, a spare shirt, deodorant and anything else you need on hand.

- Be flexible with your timeline. Especially your photos! You can opt to have your photos later in the day when it's cooler. Just chat to your photographer about this.

When a client asks for florals to be the styling statement piece. We deliver! For Elise and Greg's, it was their cermeony florals that stole the show. Then as their guests sipped mojitos at cocktail hour, our team magically transported their floral oasis to their reception. Everywhere you turned, there were florals and it was epic! Availability update for Wedding Planning, Styling & Coordination in 2025 and 2026!

Recently we have been getting enquiries for dates in early 2025 and it's bitter-sweet to have to send a "sorry, we are already booked" email for dates between now and May 2025. Because, we are in fact fully booked until May 2025.

We are taking on a limited number of clients between May 2025 and July 2025 so NOW is the time to get in touch to secure your date with us during this time.

Our next wedding season kicks off in September 2025 with November 2025 and March 2026 being 90% fully booked already.

Hi, I’m Melanie.

I am a lover of coffee, country air + early morning starts!

My passion for weddings started in 2017 when I had the privilege of planning my brother’s wedding at our family property in Shepparton, Victoria. He + his wife-to-be both had a clear vision on how they wanted their wedding day to unfold, however they were unsure how to navigate the planning + styling of their special day. With my experience in sport + entertainment events in Melbourne, along with my organisational skills + slight OCD, I helped them create a relaxed + beautiful wedding that they not only they loved, but also their guests loved.

I quickly realised through planning + coordinating my brother’s wedding that this was what I wanted to do. Help couples create unique property weddings in Central Victoria + eliminate stress so they can be present with their loved ones on their wedding day.
