Decisions like this don’t need to be made when you book. We are super flexible and if bad weather is forecast, you can change your plans overnight! It’s that simple!

HIGH TEA with Quince Gin ~ Rupanyup, Vic

I am really looking forward to collaborating with two of our suppliers from the 150km Feast to present what promises to be a stunning afternoon! There’s limited seats so get in quick!

…Enjoy a gorgeous country-style High Tea with an array of sweet and savoury delights, beautifully set tables with florals and finery whilst sipping on gin and tonics. An afternoon of simple luxuries celebrating country women and local produce.

Showcasing the divine brownies from Rupanyup Living, The Kitchen and the delicious limited release Quince Gin from Mrs Baker's Still House. This gin is a very special small batch made in collaboration between the two businesses for a second year - woohoo!

As the founder of the 150km Feast, I’m absolutely thrilled to see this event, hosted by two incredibly passionate growers, producers, makers (and make it happeners!) Claire Morgan & Jane Baker, come to life, bringing an ‘experience’ for people from across the region, perhaps even beyond 150kms! 🌻

Make the day even more memorable by bringing six friends and hopping in the comfy ‘people mover’ with Horsham Tours.

The Cattle Shed at night in winter!

Last night was a still, winter’s night; ideal for some drum fires and a few lagers at Rhys’ 30th.

Happy birthday Rhys 🍻

How many photos are too many? 🤫

It was a pleasure to decorate The Cattle Shed for tours at yesterday’s SMOKE on the Water, winter food & wine festival at the Maydale Reserve.

Table centres were hydrangeas (thank you Graeme Eldridge), chrysanthemums from Craft for a Cause and cumquats from the Maydale Social Garden.

An eclectic mix of crockery, cutlery and glassware.

Taking bookings for 2025 now!

The Maydale Reserve venue has had a busy start to the year and some special moments captured, missed our socials!

So give it up for Hamish and Maddy Summerhayes who weren’t married in The Cattle Shed but Maydale Pavilion. They chose this venue because they have so many friends, The Cattle Shed was too small and like Maddy said, “we need a big dance floor!” So they got what they asked for!

This wedding was significant in more than one way …you see, bride Maddy is the great granddaughter of Thomas McGennisken who donated a bushel of wheat for the Horsham Ag Society to build McGennisken Hall at the Horsham Showgrounds. This building was demolished a few years ago but the signage was kept by the family and the floorboards and anything salvageable has been repurposed by the Ag Society and others.

Once again last Saturday, guest numbers exceeded the boundaries of The Cattle Shed, so the Maydale Pavilion was the obvious choice, supported by The Stockmen’s Beer Garden for the wedding ceremony of the gorgeous Jas & Jake! Congratulations and best wishes on a beautiful future together as Mr & Mrs Brazendale. 💓

It’s not often we are in a position to capture the private moments of a wedding so please enjoy our photo gallery of their special day!

Last Saturday’s wedding wasn’t in The Cattle Shed because it isn’t big enough to cater for 250 people but we’ve inherited some of this furniture!

The Maydale Reserve (The Cattle Shed, Stable One and Maydale Pavilion) continues to lead the way in rustic wedding venues in regional Victoria.

Coming to The Cattle Shed on Sunday 25th February is our very own Gin Blending Masterclass which is part of the 150km Feast Food Truck & Wine Festival and Marketplace.

You can blend your own gin in our rustic shed and discover the herbs, orchard fruits, indigenous species and traditional botanicals used to make gin.

Explore the flavour components harnessed by distillation and enjoy the market outdoors for a hot minute, before tasting up to 15 individual distillations such as juniper, citrus, coffee, and pepperberry and deciding upon your own signature gin.

You will have the chance to build on the traditional blend of botanicals; you'll harness the scientist within as you use beakers and test-tubes to blend of your own gin and bottle it into one of Mrs Baker’s elegant apothecary-style bottles.

Drink a gin and tonic made from your own gin blend, and graze on a delicious grazing platter.

Your 'take home' bundle includes 200mL bottle of your own signature gin, a record of your gin components, plus a wonderfully illustrated booklet with botanical insights.

Here's some photos from last year's masterclass next door, in Stable One.

BOOK TODAY! Numbers are limited to 15. https://www.trybooking.com/COCJE

Birdsong at Stable One.

Seating for 80 guests for a wedding ceremony which, just over 12 months ago was a simple almost 80 year old, rarely used horse stable.

This venue is the setting for the 150km Feast on February 24 & 25. There’s now just two tables left for Dinner Under the Stars. Hop online and secure your seat at a table via https://www.trybooking.com/CGPXY

After a four week break, it’s been an absolutely huge week finishing at 10.30pm last night to get the final touches done around the grounds and in The Cattle Shed and Stable One for a wedding today.

The unexpected jungle from the unseasonal summer rains we were met with, was quite overwhelming. But thanks to Zac our after school superstar and our small team of volunteers from the workshop, in the garden, the community service program and one or two committee members from the Ag Society, we got the jobs done.

From fighting the weeds, mowing and edging the lawns, moving furniture to placing lots of ‘new’ rustic decor around the precinct, everything is looking pretty schmick again! ❤️

Enjoy this gallery of photos.

Next week, you’ll see why Stable One is Horsham’s newest wedding ceremony venue!

Celebrating Theresa and her 80 years of life with family and friends in The Cattle Shed yesterday.

The versatility of our space at Maydale Reserve caters for wet weather, as the original plan was to have Theresa’s party in Stable One and on the lawns surrounding it, on a lovely summer afternoon. But no! Twenty five millimetres of rain fell and changed plans!

CONGRATULATIONS ❤️🥂❤️ TO THE NEWLYWEDS

Part two of our debut wedding ceremony on Saturday was a celebration of true love as this couple made the snap and wise decision the day before, to relocate their wedding ceremony to the seclusion of Stable One as gusty winds made their presence known!

With the red carpet rolled out, no wind was going to dampen this couple’s plans to live happily ever after.

Stable One didn’t disappoint!

Perfect for wedding ceremonies and intimate receptions. 🤎
