Special native plants of April – Eremophila (Eremophila Winter Gold)

A beloved native plant and a must-have plan in your garden.
It’s the strongest flowering performer of all the eremophilas – with rich green foliage and pretty lemon-yellow flowers appearing late autumn to early summer to brighten up those dull spots. A neat and compact plant that looks great as a splash of colour in the garden or as an excellent addition to a pot. Tolerates frost, and doesn’t require much water once established.

The Flowers of the Month - IRIS

Iris is the symbolic flower of the Greek goddess Iris who was also the messenger of love, it seems fitting that the elegant iris is the birthday flower of February. Traditionally, the iris symbolizes eloquence, faith, wisdom and hope. In Greek, iris means “rainbow” and the plant’s name probably reflects the fact that irises are grown in many colours, including blue and purple, white and yellow, pink and orange, brown and red, and even black.

• Purple iris denotes wisdom and compliments.
• Blue iris symbolizes faith and hope.
• Yellow iris stands for passion.
• White iris symbolizes purity.
