Last month I celebrated my 50th birthday (a month early due to the weather) with a party and a surprise vow renewal. My invite said 4.30pm sharp and unfortunately some couldn't make it but the ones that did got to celebrate our vow renewal with us. It was just beautiful! Our wedding was very traditional so we made this day how we wanted it, not having to please others.

So this side of our backyard was the ceremony and the other side I turned it into a nightclub... I called it CLUB 50.
I was so busy getting organised that I didn't take many photos of the set-up, definitely kicked myself.
It was definitely my best work yet.
We had red carpet around the back of the house, including bollards and pretend security, my kids did this and loved it. 🙂
It was amazing, fun and definitely a celebration we will all remember.

The first day of Autumn! I absolutely adore the colours in this post. Burnt oranges, beige's and pinks or just a dusty pink work so well together. Just because they are seen as an autumn colour doesn't mean you can't have them in another season. It's your wedding use the colours that you love. These colours go really well with a hint of gold.
I have often heard brides say "I love these but it's not an autumn wedding". I say '"who cares" do what you love we can make it all work.

I just finished a wedding at Two Tonne Max in North Melbourne. I love having a blank canvas to work with when setting up a wedding. It's always hard work but so rewarding and of course so sweet when you see the happy couple.

Four (4) things that can make your wedding talked about for all the right or wrong reasons!
1. FOOD
Ensure you make it clear whether it is an actual meal or just finger food, and either way that there is enough. Guests will leave early because they are starving. Make sure the food is fresh and tasty we don't want anyone getting sick due to bad food or allergies that weren't listened to.

2. ENTERTAINMENT
Whether it is a DJ, a band or duo, a juke box or a personalised Spotify play list made by the couple, make sure your guests can hear it and that it's enjoyable. Good entertainment sets the mood at any event, especially a wedding.

3. ALCOHOL
If you are having alcohol at your wedding specify the T&C's on the invitation, 'Beer, wine and soft drink available, other drinks at bar prices' Or if it is a dry event make this also known. Your guests won't mind as long as they are aware prior.

4.COMFORT
If your guests aren't comfortable, they will leave early. At the ceremony if it is a really hot day provide shelter, bottles of water and even a seat to sit down. You don't want anyone fainting.
If it is cold ensure there is shelter from cold wind, provide a throw blanket especially for the oldies, use the heater or even a bon fire depending on the style of wedding.
One thing that is always annoying is not telling your guests if it is a garden wedding and it's on grass, mention to your guests that it's grass and flat shoes would be perfect at that time.
If you have oldies coming, make sure they can be dropped off close to the entrance, so they aren't walking ridiculous distances. Include a special note in their invite, your grandparents will love you even more for it.
