Inquiring With Vendors – Be Intentional.
Let’s put this into perspective. Imagine knocking on someone’s door. They stop what they’re doing, walk over, open it with a smile, ready to welcome you in—only for you to turn around and sprint away without a word. Feels kinda weird, right?
That’s essentially what happens when couples send out wedding inquiries without actually being sure they’re interested. And look, this isn’t about us specifically—it’s just something that happens all the time in the wedding industry, and it’s been on our minds lately.
Here’s the thing: before you hit send on an inquiry, you should be at least 90% sure that this vendor is someone you actually see yourself working with. Because when you reach out, that person—whether it's a photographer, a florist, or a planner—is taking time away from their family, their work, and their life to respond. They’re putting thought and care into how they can serve you best. That deserves respect.
And hey, we’re not saying you have to book everyone you inquire with. But if something changes, just shoot a quick message. A simple “Hey, we’ve decided to go another direction, but thanks so much for your time” takes ten seconds—and it goes a long way.
Because wedding planning isn’t just about picking vendors—it’s about building relationships with people who are going to be a part of one of the biggest days of your life. Choose them intentionally. Treat them with the same care you’d expect in return. It’s not just good wedding planning—it’s just being a good human.
We’d love to hear your thoughts—vendors, have you experienced this? Couples, did you think about your inquiries this way? Let’s talk. 👇
