This interactive workshop is for everyone who wants to develop or improve their own productive vegie patch or yummy yard and needs a combination of information and inspiration to get them started.

She will cover the basics including the whys and where’s of setting up your vegie garden and then go into the essential details such as soil, compost, irrigation, seasonal planting, seeds vs seedlings and much, much more.

She will also cover how to bring in the good bugs to help manage the bad and deal with problems within the garden.

The timing of this workshop is designed so that you can start setting up your new vegie patch and be ready to plant warm season crops in spring.

So, if you are dreaming of eating your own, home grown, organic, delicious, vine ripened tomatoes, as well as every other wonderful vegie, this is a great workshop to attend.

she will endeavour to weave in answers as she goes

Looking to develop your own piece of paradise but not sure where to start? Come to this interactive workshop with Sophie Thomson to learn the fundamentals of creating your perfect sustainable property and understand how to develop a master plan ensuring success.

This extended workshop will cover zoning concepts to help you manage water use and create microclimates for more enjoyable living, the basics of soil improvement, optimal planting times, work out where to locate productive patches such as vegie gardens and fruit trees, incorporate fowls, bees and beneficial bugs……………… and much more.

It is her experience of creating her own garden from a bare paddock over the last twelve years, with summer temperatures often hotter than Adelaide, and six to seven months of frosts (down to minus 5 degrees) that gives Sophie the hands-on experience to run this workshop.

Come along with your notebook and burning questions relating to developing your own garden and she will endeavour to weave in answers as she go.

The artist in residence program is joint initiative of and based at .retreat. It’s a great opportunity for any Yorke Peninsula artists to spend time dedicated to developing their artwork and engaging the community in the arts.

Through eloquent storytelling and sharp wit, Nancy shares with the audience her hope and her pain, delivering a ‘call to action’ that is impossible to ignore.

In this acclaimed show Nancy pays homage to her inspiration, delivering an outstanding musical performance and revolutionary experience. Accompanied by the talent Flik Freeman on bass, Nancy will guide the audience through some of Tracy Chapman’s most powerful ballads including, Fast Car, Give Me One Reason and Talkin’ Bout a Revolution.
