Ahh the magic of ! It was a sizzling hot weekend with a top of 41 degrees on the Sat. This meant far less facepainting then expected, and reduced sales of Festival glitter too. Everyone went to the beach!
The fact that we still had fun, despite our personal financial hit, speaks of the sheer joy and fab vibe of this gorgeous festival community. Giant sea gulls, great music, delicious food and lots of laughs. Thanks !

Women’s Cycling Classic 2024 was a gorgeous summers day celebrating awesome athletes! We were able to offer free facepainting thanks to event sponsor Lochard Energy, and our glitter team roamed amongst free , a jumping castle, community fun run and the finish line of the Women’s Classic.

I’ve been building fun glitter trays for a few upcoming events!
These last few weeks our market work has seen us offering glitter to those who don’t want to wait in line for facepainting. Or for adults and youth that just need to sparkle up their day!
We are also trying different kinds of BIO glitter, trying to find the balance of affordability versus environmental credentials. Like most things these days, you have to be aware of green washing and try and get as much info as possible. I’ve ordered a bunch of ’s bio glitter cremes and am super keen to try them!

Roving Festival Glitter? The Facepainters are now offering roving glitter artists for your event. It’s been super popular with Festival organisers as we can walk ticket or food van queues and keep everyone happy AND sparkly. 🌈❤️

The Facepainters Southwest is now working at markets! in the past, we have only ever operated on a ‘for hire’ basis. Event organisers would pay us an hourly rate to attend their festival or event. This summer, inspired by the popularity of our large local markets like Warrnambool Summer Markets , and The Fresh Market Warrnambool, we decided to branch out and try the ‘pay per face’ model-charging individual customers at markets. It’s been a great success! For the rest of the summer we’ll be balancing our booked events with visits to markets in Warrnambool and Port Fairy. Amber and I are also looking forward to offering facepainting and festival glitter inside the arena of the Port Fairy Folk festival in March! 💃
We are looking for line managers for both local events and the folkie so please message me if you are interested.
Thanks to my lovely brother and Mum who were super supportive and came along to my first market a few weeks ago. ❤️ Such a delight to have them along!

I’m learning that facepainting is about creating little connections with people. These two sisters were a delight when I painted them for the Fairy Street Twilight Market. The younger sister opted for a butterfly design, and shouted “I love it!” when I finished. She then asked to hold up the mirror for her older sister’s ‘big reveal’. Her older sister made a beautiful angel, and really rocked those sparkles. We took some photos, had another glance at the mirror, and then they went on their merry way. Such a lovely little moment shared on a summer’s night. ❤️ I do love facepainting.

For simplicity, speed and popularity, this Bluey design is THE BEST. It keeps my queue down, and is the perfect quick design for young kids. For the very young and squirmy, I only stencil in the image, and leave out the BLUEY word.
Tonight Tiahna and I will be working 5-7pm at Fairy Street Warrnambool for the Twilight Christmas Market. Facepainting is freeeeee so come along!

A parent sent me this reel, and I’m delighted because they managed to capture their youngest holding out his little fist in the sweetest pose. He was clearly very excited but a little nervous, but he managed to relax into the chair by the time I painted his whiskers. 🐯 Brave little tiger!

I consider this a performance piece, and I was the make up girl for this fabulous little actor. 😆 He gave a quality “RAA!!”, and an even better side eye. 😄 **** five stars.
I find that kids will more readily relax and keep their head still if they have a supported head. Less flinching and wobbling helps my line work. 👍 Thankyou to the wonderful Kristy from @tasmanholidayparksaus Warrnambool for filming me facepainting, and for generally being a warm and welcoming host.

Today’s adventure was face painting on the back deck at a fabulous farm party. Paddocks for days, rides on the 3 wheeler, a jumping castle and the kids had to run and chase someone to get their “ticket” for a lolly bag. 😂 Oh, and I painted this gorgeous girl who is an artist herself. We chatted about watercolours. 😊 Congratulations Amy on creating a lovely event!
