We have a wonderful concert this evening with Mickey and Michelle at the Thirroul Railway Institute Hall. Doors at 7pm.

Descending from the mountains are harp and fiddle extravaganza Mickey & Michelle, whose energetic and virtuosic performances have captured hearts throughout Australia and New Zealand. Celebrated for their artistry and virtuosic skill, Mickey & Michelle weave a gorgeous ‘chamber-folk’ tapestry of original Celtic music infused with vocal harmony and fiery improvisations.

The duo’s inception began with a wild idea to tour the length of New Zealand on foot for 6 months. This adventurous spirit continues to fuel their creativity, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the natural world. Through their carefully crafted lyrics and instrumentals, listeners are invited to reflect on their own relationship with nature.

We are proud to be presenting this unique worldly musical union of Metin Yilmaz (Kaval) & Damian Wright (flamenco guitar)

Friday June 16th the Thirroul Railway Institute Hall.

A meeting of two distinct yet strongly-rooted cultural and musical traditions. Kurdish Dengbej (Troubadour) influences improvised with meditative sounds of Kaval will dance with the sounds of captivating Flamenco guitar.

ARIA nominated flamenco guitarist Damian Wright (Bandaluzia) and Kaval/ Bilur player Metin Yilmaz (Kurdish/Turkey) bring their unique styles and deep musical experiences together with own compositions, alongside expressive improvisations as well as Makams (musical scale from East) and melodies from Anatolia.
