Hi to All,
Final Sunday News for 2024.
Jeff and Barbara’s Christmas Party at Club Macquarie was brilliant. I say brilliant as your eyes were drawn to the many hundreds of twinkling lights on the stage. Magnificent as usual. Everyone beautifully dressed for the occasion, we all had a wonderful night of dancing.
Our Christmas party too on Wednesday was such a wonderful day, thanks to all of you.
I started by thanking Stacey at the Doylo for the booking of our lunch and extended our thanks to the staff for being so helpful. She replied by saying, “I myself and the team enjoyed having you all here, a sea of beautiful festive friends”.
We enjoyed our lunch very much. 73 for lunch is not an easy task but with Beth making a list, and checking it twice, and Steve’s marvellous meal tickets, everything went off so well. The restaurant staff appreciating those tickets so very much. Our meals were served in record time, so, with no delays at the club, we actually got back to the hall and started the dance on time.
As usual not everyone takes a good photo at that second so those were not added. Hopefully someone else will share.
I must say a huge thank you to Beth, Steve, Doug, Libby, John and Sue for being there so early to decorate the hall, set up tables, organise afternoon tea etc. In fact, there must be a stronger word I could use than “Thank You”, as it doesn’t seem to be enough for all the help given throughout the year. You are all so very much appreciated.
As all of you, our dancing family are so very much appreciated. Without all of you there wouldn’t be a dance. You are a wonderful group of people, and I am in awe of how good you are to each other and to me. It is a pleasure to play music for you each week.
I’m always a little anxious that all goes well, and I was a little overwhelmed on the day and didn’t say as much as I could have. But thank you all so very, very, much for my Christmas present. The card is amazing, so many names, I lost count and then there was Wendy and Peter from the South Coast visiting again, so good to see them.
And what a great day it was for Roman too, as it was his birthday. How marvellous 80 people singing happy birthday, what a wonderful sound, Roman did enjoy every minute.
And it’s not finished yet, we have more celebrations to attend
