Event: Small Business Award Ceremony

Small Business, the meaning, over the years has changed. Myself having been the head of my own small business since 2012 had been this year 2023 nominated for an award, which within itself was a humbling experience. I didn't get an award, but there were others that I can proudly give way to, who deserved it, small businesses that are putting in the hard work that are doing big things to this economy, some who are making Barbados both regionally and internationally known. Both nominees and awardees were complimentary of each other and ending the night with laughter, it was event to remember.

Event: Youth Forum

This event, which was the initiative of the Small Business Association, Small Business week of activities, brought together various secondary schools around Barbados to expose them to possible futures of success in different fields. This event was interactive, attentive and fun, the students exited with ideas and a glimpse into what they can become. It was interesting to cover this event, seeing the bright future of Barbados.

Event: Birthday shoot

Minutes to spare, from off her flight straight onto the beach before the sunset on her birthday. It was a rush for the shy, nervous and anxious birthday girl prepping for her first ever photo-shoot, that said, after couple of clicks she was enjoying the moment, as her mother, aunties and cousin all stood cheering for her.

EVENT: Crop Over 2023

Its was back to the old route for this year Crop Over 2023 and Bajans came out to represent. An array of costumes, the ladies came out decked out in all their glory to represent their bands from Aura, Kontact to Zulu and more. Crop 2023 got off to a start with fresh hits coming from Barbados' own hit makers vying for the top spot in the Road March competition. All said and done Crop Over 2023 despite a slow start was a success for band leaders, vendor and patrons alike.

Event: Birthday shoot {Part one}

Natoya, from all the way in Huston Texas outdid herself on her shoot.
First time to the island, she fell in love with Bridgetown, and there was where she wanted her shoot done. What we didn't know but learnt as we got into it, that Natoya had an injury to one of her legs which didn't stop her from marching on Bridgetown like nobody's business. Thank you for choosing us and we are happy you are satisfied.

You haven't walk until you have walked the black carpet. An experience within itself, calling for confidence as you walk and your picture is being taken, however, the Sagicor Barbados employees outdid themselves as they walked up. This night was a night of elegance and excellence as Sagicor rewarded their outstanding employees for great year/years of service.

It was truly a night, thank you for having us and wishing you all the best 2023 and beyond.

Big House & Big Attitudes

To be bad all by yourself is fine, but to be bad with your friends is a completely different story. Christine, who celebrated her birthday with her friends found themselves in beautiful Barbados inside a big house in Westmoreland, and to reflect that size house their attitudes were even bigger. Being among the ladies I saw support, laughter and most importantly fun, these ladies were hilarious, not only with me but with each other, it was truly an experience.

Happy Father's Day

Mr. Hamilton, I knew first as a friend and then a devoted father, a man of few words until the name Ayrton comes up, that's when my friend comes alive with stories of his son, from what he sees and hears as he watches him grow, making mental notes to tell him when he gets older, or for some good jokes at his wedding day lol. Whatever it will be, I am sure it will be a moment of laughter and fun.

This event lived up to its name from the beginning to the end, the Astonished promoters went over and above to make sure they patrons were well fed and liquored up in the finest quality from finger foods to snacks and ice cream to the best of premium whiskey to the finest of wine. The selection of DJs kept the patrons in full groove, selecting from the past hits from T O K to modern hits from Skeng. All in all, Astonished 2023 was given 10s across the board and we are looking forward to the next one.

Yesterday commence the week for awareness of downsydrome. A.B.I Productions had the privilege of sharing a space and spending time with children with downsyndrome and it was a humbling experience. So if you haven't purchased your socks go and get them and wear them to work.

Themed: Earth Water Mother

It is said Africa is the birthplace of civilization, but I would like to add that any black woman able to give birth is Africa herself, carrying on what our ancestor laid before us.

As black history month ends, may we continue to rise to the occasion of our history, carrying on the torch pass from generation to generation.

Full circle:

One of my Childhood friends, confidant with a big heart asked me to shoot his wedding, and with great excitement I said yes. We planned and organised it and the day came and it was lovely.

It was only sitting in my office editing at my desk that it hit me! How my passion, love and business of photography came full circle, meaning that I was able to do some of great importance to one of my dearest friends, and honestly it brought tears to my eyes, tears of joy.
