The ceremony is the most important part of any wedding day. Without a ceremony, there wouldn’t be a wedding. As an independent alternative wedding celebrant, I work with couples to provide individually created and bespoke ceremonies centered around their own Dreams
WHAT IS A CIVIL CELEBRANT? A Civil Celebrant is a private individual offering
bespoke crafted Ceremonies such as a Wedding, for those who don’t want a religious event with a Priest or Minister and wish something far more special and unique than a Magistrate can offer in Court. OTHER CEREMONIES: Handfasting, Betrothal, Commitment, Renewal of Vows & Naming Ceremonies

As a Ceremonialist, I have performed Wedding and Commitment Ceremonies in Barbados for a few years and am fully trained and certified as an Official Family Celebrant and Member of the UK Society of Celebrants. Working closely with You as a couple (even remotely) I craft and script a bespoke ceremony for you and choreograph a special event around YOUR Wishes and Dreams. This can include: themed weddings, ceremonies in unusual spaces and same s*x weddings. I don’t work from any particular belief system and I create a Ceremony to match YOUR views or beliefs whatever they may be and no two couples or ceremonies are the same. BARBADOS LAWS
In many countries a Celebrant has the power to perform legal marriages but here in Barbados only an ordained Priest or Magistrate can legally marry a couple and so a quick visit to the Magistrates court the day before or after the ceremony formalizes your legal Marriage (I can guide you through this). The Wedding Ceremony then fulfils all the other aspects including vows, ring exchange and other beautiful rituals of sharing your Love together and with your Guests. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE CEREMONY? There is no typical ceremony because each one is unique, but a rough plan might include:
1. readings and poems
2. a song or music
3. information about how you met and are planning your life together
4. personalised vows
5. exchange of rings
6. a Handfasting Blessing
7. additional symbolic rituals eg. Sand Mixing, or Unity Candle
8. pets and children are also welcome to be included
I initially talk with you and present options so that together we establish exactly what will make your ceremony unique to YOU. I guide and help you in creating vows and choosing readings or music. Every step of the way YOU are in charge of when, where and what is included in your Ceremony. In my capable hands you can relax and enjoy your special day with friends, family and each other. I also work in conjunction with your Wedding Planner if it is a big event.
