We are thrilled to announce our newly launched bursary for The Barbados Rum Experience, in partnership with Foursquare Rum Distillery. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and experienced spirits communicator to learn more about the history and culture of rum, and there is no better way to do that than in its homeland, Barbados.

The Barbados Rum Experience takes place on 30 October to 4 November 2023, the lucky winner will get the opportunity to visit the island’s most prominent distilleries, taking part in tastings and masterclasses, and sharing this experience via articles on the IWSC's website, as well social media content and publications in our consumer brand, Club Oenologique

Day Four, Barbados Rum Experience. Thursday November 3rd 2022. Today was our second day of distillery visits as all four groups rotated between Foursquare, Mount Gay and St Nicholas Abbey distilleries. Join us as we followed the Foursquare groups on their tours around the distillery with Richard Seale. Later that evening Mount Gay Rum hosted their Meet the Maker dinner at the beautiful Fairmont Royal Pavilion.

Highlights from Day Three, Barbados Rum Experience. Wednesday 2nd November 2022. Finishing off our third day with the Foursquare Meet the Maker Dinner. Catered by the incredible local duo of Thaddeus Sealy & Jamaal Bowen. Providing the BRE guests with an exceptional Barbadian fine dining dinner, where breadfruits cost more than a dollar ;) with an absolutely delicious breadfruit sorbet!

Later that evening there was the Foursquare Meet the Maker Dinner at the Radisson Hotel with a strong focus on Barbadian cusine and cocktails by Dodi Inc and TopShelf Bar Academy.

Highlights from Day Two of the Barbados Rum Experience. Our day started off with Rum Distillery Tours at Mount Gay and St. Nicholas Abbey Distilleries. The day finshed with a surprise experience at George Washington House with a cocktail reception meet and greet with our speakers. In the evening at the Radisson we held an exclusive Meet the Warrens experience at the Radisson Hotel.
