ফেনী, নোয়াখালি, কুমিল্লা, লক্ষ্মীপুর, কুড়িগ্রাম এবং খাগড়াছড়িসহ আশেপাশের অঞ্চল বন্যা আক্রান্ত হয়ে পড়েছে। টানা বৃষ্টিপাতে মুহুরি নদীর পানি বিপৎসীমার অনেক উপর দিয়ে প্রবাহিত হচ্ছে। কিছু বুঝে ওঠার আগেই বিপদে পড়েছে সংলগ্ন এলাকাগুলো। মানুষ ঘরের চালে উঠেও ঠাঁই পাচ্ছে না, হাঁড়িতে ভাসিয়ে রাখা হচ্ছে শিশুদের, গরু মরে ভেসে যাচ্ছে, খামারের হাজার হাজার মুরগী পানিতে ডুবে মরেছে মাত্র কয়েক ঘন্টার ব্যবধানে। বৃদ্ধ আর অসুস্থ মানুষদের কষ্টের কথা বলাই বাহুল্য। দেশের এই অবস্থায়, আমরা চাই মানুষের প্রয়োজনে এগিয়ে আসতে। আমরা আগামী তিনদিন (২৪ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত) আপনাদের পাঠানো ডোনেশন সংগ্রহ করবো এবং যত দ্রুত সম্ভব সাহায্য নিয়ে পৌঁছে যাবো বন্যা কবলিত গ্রামে।

শিল্পীর উপর হামলা কোনোভাবেই কাম্য নয়। একজন শিল্পীকে বাড়ি ছাড়া করে সেই বাড়িতে আগুন দিয়ে তার সর্বস্ব ধ্বংস করা কোন পর্যায়ের নির্মম আচরণ ও বর্বরতা তা আপনি আমি কেউই কেউই বোধয় এখনও টের পাচ্ছি না!
এতো বছর ধরে তিল তিল করে রাহুল তার স্টুডিও ও সংসার যে গড়ে তুলেছিলেন তা এক নিমিষেই পুড়ে ছাই। আজ রাহুলের সাথে হয়েছে কাল আপনার সাথেও হতে পারে! বা রাহুলের স্থানে আপনিও হতে পারতেন!
রাহুল একজন শিল্পী। তার পরিচয় হোক শুধুই শিল্পীই! তিনি কোনো দল, মত, রাজনীতির সাথে জড়িত ছিলেন না। তার উপর পরিকল্পিত যে হামলা চালানো হয়েছে তার তীব্র নিন্দা জানাই।

আগামী শনিবার, ৩ আগস্ট বিকেল ৩ টায় শিক্ষার্থীদের সাথে সংহতি প্রকাশ করে আমরা সংগীত শিল্পীরা সবাই মিলিত হবো রবীন্দ্র সরোবরে ( ধানমণ্ডি ৮/এ) । গানে গানে আমরা শিল্পীরা সংহতি প্রকাশ করবো। যারা ঢাকার বাইরে আছেন তারা নিজ নিজ জেলার উপযুক্ত স্থানে দাঁড়িয়ে সংহতি প্রকাশ করবেন।
On Saturday, 3rd August, at 3 pm, we the musicians will meet at Rabindra Sarovar (Dhanmondi 8/A) in solidarity with the students of Bangladesh. We will express solidarity through music and lyrics. Those who are outside Dhaka can do the same in their respective districts. 🙏🏻
