Egebamyasi (SCT, live) 🤩

James Matthew McDonald, better known as Mr Egg or Egebamyasi, is an egg-obsessed Scottish musician who pioneered the UK acid house movement in the mid 80s, before anyone knew what it was called. He took the name ‘Egebamyasi’ from a Can album.
Egebamyasi began as a band, fusing many eclectic influences including Captain Beefheart, Can, Fat Gadget and electro into a unique style.
From 1985 as dance music was turned on its head by the emerging rave scene, Egebamyasi also underwent a musical epiphany after hearing the Sleezy D track 'I've Lost Control'. He built his reputation with a series of increasingly successful acid tracks.
His music has been supported by many artists, including Carl Cox, Cajmere, Eat Static and many more.
