Today, 10years ago I played my first dj set in my beloved ‘Brieljant Deinze’.
Back in 2006 I was inspired by Pendulum, not knowing what it actually was. A few years later, I saw Murdock and Netsky at Pukkelpop 2009 & 2010 and I ‘rediscovered’ DnB music. From the beginning I knew that this was my kind of thing.
Lot’s of things changed. I first started playing the full spectrum of DnB music. As I aged, I got influenced by the sonics of Starwarz & Steam. Big shoutout to Snap-ah for taking me into DecaDance. Years went by and I got invited in some European city’s for a few sets. I met new people and gained lots of experience.
The past 2 years I took a break (due to Covid), but also because I wanted to try out some new things in my personal life. I immersed myself into photography and to be honest, this new project takes a lot of my personal time.
Today, 10years later, I can look back at a lot of awesome gigs. I am thankful for all promotors and organisations who booked me the past 10years.
Maybe I should do a ‘10years of PHONETIX’ tour.
We’ll see.
I cannot wait to stand behind the decks again.
