We never had a GUEST list but we believe it is time for a TRANS list (for our next party Sept 15 - Los Ninos & Vicuna : Gay Berlin).

We always strived to be the most openminded party. In 2012 we received a rider from JD Samson mentioning respect and non discrimination. Since then we have shown the text in different ways. Today it remains clearly visible on our websites.

We believe we owe it to a community not yet visible enough and is under attack in several countries. By provoking we hope to raise awareness. We support LGBTQIA and reject the notion that the LGB cause is separate from the rest.

This list is for all under the trans umbrella. DM for free tickets.

PS: We had one negative feedback on our IG post that this discriminates against non trans people so we thought about our action:
- we are helping a particular minority (we see reports of 2% of population) with a particular action, something we have done for other groups in the past. helping is financial but that is not the important part, it is about wanting to communicate on this topic
- we believe that the group deserves this specific attention in view of news, especially in USA but with worrying signs in many other countries, on removal of rights
- we believe this group is underrepresented at our parties and believe that this is what we can do for them
- we believe in equity where we take into account a society having difficulties with accepting transgender , not equality where groups are considered equal to each other
- we continue to believe that guest lists are not ok and that it's better to give that money to those who need it more
- we are aware of the difference between positive discrimination and positive action and see this as the latter
- we remain open for debate

PICS OR NO PICS? The balance between freedom and restriction is a very difficult topic. I was not initially in favour of putting stickers over a cam in the name of freedom. Moreover Los Ninos did not have complaints, otherwise I would have taken this action a long time ago. It's been years that Berghain type of clubs put stickers on phones. So biggest question will be "overreacting or not".
But I have to admit that when freedom of others is at stake at the party for the pleasure of taking pics, then I do want to make sure we take measures. The problem is not the well meaning people who like a party pic, let's us get that straight.
Below comments do not mean a decision is taken. For now we have 75% in favour of not allowing pics, 25% not. In this case I don't just go with majority, some comments could change the policy still but it already seems clear that something needs to be done.
Really looking forward to seeing you tonight (haven't seen you in waaay too long) !

🟩 Here's some of the positive comments from our 130 poll respondents ( https://forms.gle/BT9Kbfxz3RkQD4wH9 ):

- Great initiative, i support C12 for this new policy
- I want to be able to act like a slt without fear of seeing myself all over the net the next day
- It creates a safer space for people discovering themselves and a nicer atmosphere where people enjoy the music
- I feel more at ease this way. No pics = better vibe and living in the moment!
- Important to have no cameras in the darkrooms
- At a party people should dance and stop killing the mood of the dancefloor with their social media ego trips and influencer delusions. Their only influence is ruining the vibe. Also, in many cases what happens at the party should stay there and not be put online as a joke.
- I believe this will help people stay in the moment. I'm hopeful to see this in more venues and parties. Thanks for taking part in trying it out.
- I think it’s a first step towards a safe and ‘healthy’ club culture. You don’t wanna end up in someone else’s photo or video, and you don’t wanna dance surrounded by people who are more focused on their phone rather than on the music and the other humans.
- For sure. Like in Berlin. In Berghain, Cocktail damore… Be happy, stop taking pictures. Love the moment.

🟧🟥 And here some I believe need a reply:

💡 I like this idea. Please hire a photograph to capture those unreal moments tho
✍️ This is a point that will be discussed. We do not have a photographer tonight and have never had one to take personal party pics.
💡 Don’t see the point what is wrong with taking pics. Almost everybody takes pic for private use.
✍️ This is the crucial point. Private Good use vs Bad use. Unfortunately an increasing number of bad use is noticed, not respecting privacy of others. It is not for the people with good intentions we would put stickers, but for the others.
💡 I like it for regular Los Ninos editions, but for the pop/disco edition it would be nice to take some pictures/videos
✍️ It would be hard to only implement for specific parties and not easy to define where limits are as our parties tend to be very mixed, very often
💡 Security camera could (should?) be operating at the door. But inside, it is nice to be assured not appear on social media. A photobooth can be installed for those willing.
✍️ There actually is a photobooth at the venue yet we understand this does not fulfill needs for group pics
💡 I see a future where people will be able to keep the selfies towards themselves and in specific areas of the clubs.
✍️ Reinforcing this in specific areas has been proven impossible unfortunately
💡 Fine but the last time I went to C12 it took two days to peel the stickers off my phone camera. Not ideal. Get easy peel stickers
✍️ C12 admitted that and has new stickers since
💡 Not allowing to take pictures is ridiculous. If you have a good door policy all the people who go inside, enter a world of diversity and acceptance. And people who take pictures there know what's going on. If people are using it to unwillingly out people or mock them online, appearently not the right crowd is entering the place. Plus, I think that not allowing to take pictures, is also erasing (visibility of) our community from history. Consider a publishing warning: that you are not allow to share pictures with recognisable faces on social media and that you (and the community) will report those pictures in violation and make sure this person cannot enter again if they refuse to take it down themselves.
✍️ We deliberately do not judge people on their appearance at the entrance. No clothes or 5 minute check is able to see if someone is respectful or not. We very rarely have to throw people out, something that does happen a lot in regular club nights where there IS a door check. Our visitors are incredible (thanks for that) and we'd like to keep it that way. A warning had already been tested but some people do not respect it and it is not easy to reinforce respect for others when being over 1000 people. Community visibility could still be captured by official photographers. Warnings have been tested but do not work and when pics are online, the damage is often done.
💡 To create a safe space I would rather see a refusal of 'allies' visiting, because they are the ones brought in by our community, but also creating a less safer space for people discovering themselves. We're not a zoo!
✍️ We agree on the zoo part yet knowing at the entrance whether allies or good or bad is impossible. Refusing them is against how we think we should live alongside each other and party with each other.
💡 Let everyone do as they wish. Let’s not always forbid everything !
✍️ We already forbid certain things and allow others that are not regular policy. We do not let certain people in eg who are too drunk or who show discriminatory behaviour. Irrespectful behaviour is forbidden. Taking pics irrespectfully goes under that category.
💡 People don’t take much photos of spend much time on their phone there so it seems a bit useless. The only point of such rule is to take the code of the techno s*x parties. It used to be a “bon enfant” atmosphere but you’re giving the impression that you want to turn that into every European gay techno party by adding darkroom and this rule.
✍️ We agree with the first part, we are very lucky we have such an incredible crowd. We however don't take up this rule to copy a EU gay techno party. If it's done there, there is a reason. If that reason is good, we can use it for us too. No need to become like them because of copying one good idea. We already had dark rooms in the past when we could, way before C12. We have always promoted an openminded, consented and safe s*xuality as optional on our night. Having fun and inviting talented artists remains our focus but from the start we have worked with Sensoa to make s*x (and HIV) a discussable topic and we have not changed our vision since 2004 on that topic.
💡 I see it wrong in different angles, its bad for advertising of the club and also it limits the rights of people to be able to do whatever they want with their phones
✍️ I don't believe clubs need this advertising. I never thought about pics in that way even. I agree it can be fun to have a pic of the night but if it comes at a too high cost and ruins other people's night then something must be done.

I hope these answers help in understanding how we will make our final decisions

We will do a test tomorrow night to not allow pics in the venue by putting a sticker over the camera of your phone at the entrance. We do this test as there seems to be a growing need for privacy at events when a picture is a lot easier at hand than ever before. We would like your opinion to define....

Tomorrow we will do a test to not allow you taking pics by putting a sticker over phone cameras. The venue (C12) has recently announced this as part of their safe space policy and even if we're not obliged to follow, we want to see its advantages.
