Vinyl-focused record shops, which used to cater mostly to the city’s DJ population, have seen a resurgence in Tokyo over the last decade, attracting large crowds of quality-conscious music fans who still prefer real albums to digital downloads. Shizuoka Prefecture is largely regarded as the embodiment of Japan’s traditional scenery. The Traditional Tea-Grass Integrated System of the prefecture is a long-established agricultural production method that protects biodiversity. The backdrop of Shizuoka’s tea farms is a classic image of the prefecture. When you visit the tea estates, you will observe that they are interspersed with grassy fields. These fields are known as chagusaba (which means “semi-natural grasslands”), and they are where grass is grown for use as tea mulch.

山岡 Yamaoka is a DJ and producer living in Sofia.
He started collecting gramophone records in 1988 while traveling with his parents in the former Yugoslavia. At that time, music entered Bulgaria mostly from Yugoslavia because of the communist regime in Bulgaria.
He made his first steps as a DJ scene in 1991. His strongest years were from 1991-1997. He also worked in Radio Pulse, producing and leading a hip hop show. He is known for his perfect mixes with gramophones.
He started training Japanese martial arts – Iaijutsu, Jojutsu and Kenjutsu.
From there comes his nickname Yamaoka associated with Yamaoka Tesshū (a remarkable figure from the turbulent era that marked the beginning of modern Japan.
