We had talked about her experiences studying in US. She pointed out challenges she had faced into to three main points :
- Culture shock
- Schooling system
- Combining school and job

She confessed culture shock to be the very first challenge that requires a little bit of time to get accustomed to. From standing people use abusively slur words to letting the brain integrate a new type of language, you may find yourself totally overwhelmed and feel out of place.

Over there, the schooling system is completely different. For the Bachelor degree, for instance, you will be spending 4 years before graduating in opposition to the schooling system we have right here. This might feel weird and make it seem you’re falling behind when you see friends you’ve been to school with graduate way before you not because you’re less smart but because the educational system has changed.

Aditionally, you have the opportunity to work while studying. We’re talking part-time job here. This can be good to make some money but also means you have to sacrifice leisure time because by the time you finish at school and go to work, if there’s any day left for you in the week is used to rest.

To add on everything said above, your skin color is something you can’t hide. People will always see the difference, curious minds would try to understand things better, people with assumptions will stick to their assumptions. You can't fight that.

Tips that will help you survive in not-your-environment :
- Surround yourself with a community
- Get out of your comfort zone
- Learn from others and about their culture because the goal of traveling is to discover

On 28th January , Le Café 's first edition gathered participants around the theme Setting smart goals.

We took that opportunity to discuss different aspects of setting goals :

- know where you are and where you want to be at

- break goals into small steps

- set goals that make you grow as a person and a professional

- set deadlines to keep track on achieving your goals

- you must be able self-evaluate your progress on reaching your goals and adjust

- set specific and relevant goals

- nothing is impossible but it's a always good to adjust goals with realities

To finish, a piece of advice we would like to drop here : whatever you do in life, let it have a purpose behind. Purposes keep you going.

On November 26th, 2022 at Wikilinguo took place the very last stage of Le Café for 2022. For that special session, we deemed important to tackle the rise of new, digital-related jobs and opportunities that come with digitalization.

Aicha Oukpedjo gratified us with her attendance to the session. She is a computer systems and softwares technician, winner of the Contest Amazone du Digital organized by the Ministry of Digital Affairs and Digitization, and WOMENVAI . She is the promoter of Happy Birth Gift as well. We put everything she said in different points as following:

- all is done! There’s nothing new to create again but what you can rather do is to put your personal touch to it. Innovate!

- networking is the key! Don’t be afraid about allowing your ideas to get combined with others’ ideas

- choose people, with great potential, to work with

- digital is the get-out door for young people

- apply digital techniques to your work domain and grow your business.

As for the new, digital-related jobs we have jobs like Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Web Developer, Content Manager, Community Manager, Web Writer, Graphic Designer and many others.

We hope these help you do differently what you’re already doing. For new graduates or professionals longing for acquiring new competences, these may help you make up your mind.

On September 24th, at , we gathered to discuss a new theme, counting for another session of Le Café.

Passion is the debut to everything ‼️

We had share his Life after studies with us. is a young entrepreneur, who read Economics and now owns a Language Center where he gives American English classes.

He said it all started out of passion, passion for the language, and after as the demands increased, he decided to open a center. From reading Economics to giving English classes, he had to get partnerships. "A vision needs to be communicated... Knocking at doors does not mean you are begging." Therefore, to be an entrepreneur, knowing how to get buy and support your ideas is a crucial skill to have.

N'est pas entrepreneur qui veut mais qui peut.

He tackled also differences between American and British English, he said: "Three major factors set the difference between those two. First, the choice of words. Second, the pronunciation, and last but not the least, the spelling." Coach Cyrus reminded us that a language is first and foremost communication and that we should try to express our mind the simplest way possible.

We would like to give a big shout-out to photographers who offered to help on that day.

Saturday, 30th July, at Wikilinguo , recap of Le Café.

We discussed advantages and drawbacks of Digitalization. Also Young Preachers outbreak has been on the agenda. Participants agreed people behind the advent of new churches and ministries are money hunters. The best thing to do, as a man of faith, is to serve God in their heart and adopt a given place to worship God.

The best for the end, , who was our guest during that session shared how engaging he is as far as children's right are concerned. Plus being a language coach, he is actively fighting for girls right for education and empowerment. He fights against children marriage and senstizes parents on the damages caused by that.

On Saturday 25th June 2022, we received Ms Hanane Abdoul Karim on Le Café.

She exposed different types and parts of Public Speaking and went on giving its benefits. "Public Speaking help you express yourself. It is not only about mastering ceremonies, though it's the communist one seen. With Public Speaking, you can learn how to pitch and this is something really important to know when you're an entrepreneur," she declared. "Pitching is not about what you say but the way you say it with keywords. That way, your interlocutor , once gone, can still remember what you've said. That's the way you get partnerships," she confessed.

Talking of passion, she shared her experience as being an entrepreneur so far and how she got started with Titilayo’s Desserts. She advised to start with what you have and improve on things you do as you move on. "Following your passion is a way to explore your talents. Be you, be determined! Passion is money," she finished.

On May 28th 2022 at Wikilinguo took place a new edition of Le Café, on the theme Youth Talk on Digital and Community Development, Act 3.

Paule Alinde shared how she went from being a student, thinking about making out of her community a green city, to being a leader in constant search of learning and helping students discover their skills.

On Saturday 26th February, the second edition of Le Café (English Workshop) was held at ALI, African Languages Institute.

Laetitia Sessi Agassa, a web developer, had shared how she went from International Relations to Coding. She said, "Learning is permanent. Always find ways to improve yourself and your skills. Have a good social networking. That being said, have a good profile on social media."
