Special program for the International Women’s Day: we first met the artist Lourenço de Bem at his atelier at Lago Norte and then had a wonderful time during lunch at . A restaurant at Lago Oeste, specialized on moqueca. The participants- members of and others enjoyed it very much.

I organized a visit to the artist for members of the group. We were received cordially and Lourenço showed us his art works, recently focused on sculptures (made of Papp mache) and explained his philosophy behind the pieces to us.

Visit at in Brazlândia, a family-run site cultivating more than 90 different tropical flowers and more than 40 different fruit trees. The participants- members of - from Austria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the US- were delighted of the beauty of flowers. And also of the lunch buffet with churrasco which was prepared for our group.

Walking Tour in Vila Planalto with members of the GCCM group. Vila Planalto is a historical place, the former settlement of engineers and workers who built the city. A typical Brazilian village so much different of the rest of the city. Nowadays very much asked for living centrally and of going out for lunch/dinner with a huge variety of restaurants and bars.

Today we visited artist Osvaldo Orias (Costa Rica) at his house and atelier. His colorful and bright paintings are so delightful, an expression of Brazil’s nature - both of fauna and flora.
In sequence, we enjoyed lunch, a Peruvian menu prepared by chef Carlos Yepez.

We paid a visit to Rancho Paraná , a family business located some 50 minutes from Plano Piloto, near Brazlândia. At the fazenda they cultivate about 220 different exotic flowers / plants / leaves which you can buy at their sales point at Mercado das Flores / Ceasa.
After the guided visit we (a group of 8 different nationalities) enjoyed a delicious lunch at their restaurant.
Thanks to Márcia and Rosany and the whole staff for having received us! See you soon again!

Cultural & Shopping Tour at Asa Norte - this group of expats was delighted to know exceptional hidden places, like:
“Confeitaria Brigue”
Bookshop “Porao do Livro”
“Ponto do Queijo”
“Tarsitano”
“Azulejos e Pisos Antigos”

We ended the tour with having lunch at “Sabor Vital” at 316 N with a delicious vegetarian buffet

At the Museu do Catetinho you can experience where and in which circumstances president Juscelino Kubitschek lived while staying in Brasília during its construction.
Núcleo Bandeirante (former Cidade Livre) also was one of the first settlements.

Take the exceptional chance to meet the famous poet Nicolas Behr at his tree-nursery “Pau do Brasil”. With him we’ll learn about typical species of Brasil, but also will listen to some of his poems!
After the visit you may have lunch at the restaurant “Jequitiba” experimenting the traditional “rabada”
(prior reservation necessary) and discover the park of the tree-nursery “Aroeira” with its cute shops.

At the Centro Cultural TCU actually the exposition “Arte da Transformação” by photographer Mila Petrillo is to be seen. Exceptional photos of cultural scenes taken over a period of 10 years at about 30 NGO’s all over Brazil where they work with children/ young adults on socio-cultural/art/theatre/music/dance projects.
Don’t miss it - highly recommend a visit!
