Congrats to Provision Chef platform member Hazen Rolle on receiving an opportunity to further his craft and sharpen his tool.

Heading back to school might look different this year with learning adjustments due to COVID-19, but these students are up for the challenge. As the academic year gears up, please join us in congratulating the 2020 Lyford Cay Foundations Scholars who have received scholarships for their perseverance and courage in daring to !

Today we are excited to celebrate Hazen Rolle, who has received a Technical and Vocational Award from Lyford Cay Foundations to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts Management from the University of West London!

Having just earned his Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts and Tourism Studies, Hazen looks forward to working alongside 5-star Michelin chefs across the pond in the Spring 2021 semester to broaden his horizons and hone his craft.

Hazen was born to cook. A two-time gold medalist for The Bahamas in the Taste of the Caribbean regional competition as part of The Bahamas National Culinary Team, Hazen was also named “Junior Caribbean Chef of the Year” for two consecutive years (2018 and 2019), which earned him a place in their Hall of Fame. Despite the lengths he is planning to travel in the pursuit of excellence, Hazen aims to open a restaurant in his hometown of Exuma in the future and hopes to inspire and train aspiring Bahamian chefs.

“I want young Bahamians to know that the world is their oyster,” says Hazen. “The scholarship from Lyford Cay Foundations has made a very positive impact on my life, because now my family doesn’t have to stress about paying for tuition and that lifts a big burden off my shoulders.”

Congratulations, Hazen! We look forward to seeing what you cook up in the future!

Chef Ryan McIntosh has joined Provision Chefs

Chef Ryan McIntosh is an enthusiastic chef in which he graduated Valedictorian from the National Training Agency in Culinary Arts. He furthered his culinary education in London and at Sandals Royal Bahamian Hospitality Training Program.

Chef Ryan has sharpened his skills by learning and mastering his talent while working alongside the country's top chefs, two Chopped champions and a Michelin star chef. He developed the proactive knowledge by cooking up to over 40 country cuisines including Asian, Italian and Caribbean cuisines.

He also worked at Hilton at Resort World Bimini, Sandals Royal Bahamian, and Grand Isle Resort and Spa just to name a few. In 2018 he became the youngest head chef in the Caribbean.

Chef Ryan specializes in various cuisines but love the infusing Caribbean flavor in his cuisines. He is no stranger to Taste of the Caribbean competition where he represented The Bahamas three (3) times at this event. He is known as the drill master for which he builds and educate his team members and always keep the true indigenous flavor in his dishes.

He is the first chef to coach the dynamic R.N Gomez All Age high school junior and senior student team in The Bahamas Young Chef Competition in 2018 with the school's fourth prize earning students to a culinary scholarship. He is the past Vice President of the Urban Renewal Youth Advisory and past president for the Youth Empowerment Program. Chef Ryan believe that putting God first, anything is possible.
