The Horticulture Association of Bhutan’s president has been awarded the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Award 2023. The award was presented on Monday in India.

Tshering Wangchuk, the president of the non-profit organisation was recognised for his contributions towards promoting horticulture in Bhutan.

The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation which presents the annual award has several main projects. Tshering Wangchuk received the award in the field of providing urban amenities to rural areas.

Today , the President of Horticulture Association along with its members met the Honorable Prime Minister. It was a formal introductory of Horticulture Association and its aim. The President of the Association informed the Prime Minister on the need of having cold storage around the country to resolve the issues pertaining surplus/ off-season crops and fruits .

The Prime Minister was very receptive to this proposal and assured his support in this venture.
