Hi 👋 it’s me, Jess!

This past year has been an absolute whirlwind for Inspired Event Design! Galas, weddings, award shows, so many events I’ve been so grateful to be a part of. However, with my Masters program beginning soon, & my full time career taking off, Inspired Event Design will continue to operate but on a smaller scale. This means that there are some changes to simplify things :

✨ all social media regarding events will go through my personal account . This will make it easier for you to see updates on events & contact me directly through social media for inquiries! This account will stay up for the remainder of summer and will be removed by September 2023. Be sure to give it a follow!

✨ my website Inspiredeventdesign.com WILL still be active for you to see services, pricing, and contact me that way as well. It is currently “under construction” to get updated information on services, pricing, & photos ☺️

✨ Lastly, I will be reducing the number of events I do in the year, which means if you would like to hire me for your next event, I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later! ☺️ I am currently booked for winter 2024 months, and June 2024, but have a few spots left in July & August 2024!

Hi, I’m Jess 👋 it’s been a while since I’ve shown my face on here, and I have a lot of new followers who don’t yet know me that well! So I figured why not start the week off with some fun facts about myself:

✨ I actually used to work for a decor company, which is how I got into event design!
✨ When I’m not working, you’ll find me outside reading, tanning, golfing, or hanging out with friends ☀️
✨ I love a good true crime documentary!
✨ I used to want to be a veterinarian; although I can’t imagine being anywhere but here now 💛

Thank you all so much for the constant love & support this summer. It’s been a wild ride but I’m so excited to see where Inspired Event Design takes me next 🤗

This quote really hit home for me this year and was my motivation to start both Inspired Event Design & make a career change in my full-time work. It’s terrifying, it’s exciting, and it’s SO worth it.

☀️ Its finally Friday!☀️

I can’t believe we are half way through August, it seems like it was June just yesterday! I have just a few weddings left this summer, but this time I get to be a guest instead of a hired hand (which I can’t remember the last time that happened)!

Research shows a “wedding boom” now that we are slowly coming out of the pandemic, and I can definitely say I think the research is right 😅 How many weddings have you been to this summer? Comment below and let me know💛

I absolutely LOVE this quote 💛 as you start your week off, I highly recommend thinking about what makes you feel happy & confident, & how you can bring that into your week.

When I do this personally, I think about what I wear & what I do. On hot weeks in July, I feel most confident wearing a t-shirt dress with an iced coffee in my hand 🔆 especially during wedding season, it’s my literal go-to!

And when I can, I listen to .inc podcast for some extra motivation 🙌

~ Here’s to 24 ~

I don’t usually celebrate my birthday, but I spent a lot of time this morning thinking about what I learned this past year & what 23 meant to me. It was my most ambitious year yet. I pushed myself as an event professional but also in my personal life.

• I started to give back to my community more by joining the YWCA board & the Brandon Chamber events committee.
• I pushed myself academically by getting more certifications and learning ways to better serve clients and myself.
• I faced my fears of failure and officially launched Inspired Event Design, proved to myself that it can be successful
• Most importantly, I learned to prioritize my mental and physical health, even if it meant doing something outside my norm.

It was a year to be proud of & I can’t wait to see what 24 brings, I have a feeling it’ll be a good one ✨

I’m still not over this wedding in Clear Lake. 😍

The moody, natural atmosphere at made the ivory linens pop to create an elegant tone. And the sweetheart table, surrounded by candles & greenery created such a romantic environment, you couldn’t help but fall in love (literally) 💛

One of the reasons I love planning events is the escape you feel when you get to go to an event & forget all about the real world for a while ✨ You just get to spend time with your friends and family, celebrating and making memories 💛

But I’ve also learned the past couple years that you can always find a reason to recognize some good in your life. You don’t need a graduation, marriage, or birthday to celebrate with your favourite people!

So today, I hope when you read this quote and then go on with your day that you are able to find a reason to celebrate. Celebrate your job, your best friend, your dog, your partner, or simply celebrate you 💛

Designing this backdrop within a matter of hours was so fun! I found an old sheet, box, books, greenery, and an old metal pail, and it all came together so nicely!

You definitely don’t need expensive or fancy items to make something beautiful, you just need a little bit of creativity 😌

And a good photographer 😉

✨ A short-story for your Sunday ✨

I was recently talking to my friend who loves to dance. Like, absolutely LOVES it. She will dance at the bar, at her job, in her car, and her favourite part about any party is the dancing.

On this particular day, she was telling me about her extremely stressful day, but that she was going dancing that night. I couldn’t help myself and had to ask her why she still wanted to go dancing, especially if she’s had a long day.

And her response?

“Well Jess, it might not always be a good day. But it’s always a good day to dance, and it ends my day so much better!”

And I don’t know about you, but I think that her perspective is SO much better than deciding that you had a miserable day and there’s just no chance for it to improve.

This Sunday, to kick off your week, just remember that no matter how bad of a day you have, it’s never a write off. There is always an opportunity to end it on a positive note 💛

🔆 It’s Officially July 🔆

Happy Canada Day! I can’t believe how fast June has flown by, so much has happened to be grateful for, and summer is only beginning 🤗

Although this time of year is insanely busy at work for weddings, I can’t wait to see what July brings for Inspired Event Design! Usually my summers involve work (obviously) with a mix of camping and coffee on the deck 😍
