The World of Professional Wrestling has a rich history of tradition and customs, ones that have carried over for decades, no matter the Country or the size of the Promotion. The men and women who ply their trade in the squared circle usually follow these unwritten rules with the upmost respect.
This past Saturday night that line was blurred, as Shaun Martens did the unthinkable and showed the upmost disrespect to MENTALLO in their Wild Rose Sports Association Inter-Provincial Heavyweight Championship Match in Calgary. In his quest to become the new Champion, he shocked everyone in attendance by removing the mask of "The Zombie Killer". This action caused MENTALLO to be distracted as the legacy of his mask was now in jeopardy, a legacy he had chosen since the start of his career honoring famous Masked Wrestlers such as the iconic Jushin Liger. This distraction caused a momentary glitch, and the wily veteran Shaun Martens utilized it to capture the WRSA Inter-Provincial Championship.
As Inter-Provincial Champion MENTALLO proudly defended the Championship in several Provinces, but the Mask is his identity, more meaningful than anything he has accomplished in the ring. Removing it was more than just a way to capture a Championship, it was an attack on everything MENTALLO holds dearly, and an attack on the history of Masked Wrestlers worldwide.
Martens is pound for pound one of the smartest wrestlers in the game, having studied tapes of mat masters such as Tully Blanchard and Ric Flair, men known for their skill, but also men who would take any advantage they could to win.
Tuesday night at the Brickwell Taphouse in Calgary "The Zombie Killer" will be refocused, promising to avenge the disrespect he feels was shown to him. Martens however has other plans, and promises his reign as Champion will be long and he will do whatever it takes, no matter what MENTALLO or Promoter Jay Sullivan has in mind.

This past January the WRSA made its debut at the Brickwell Taphouse to a thrilled audience who enjoyed an unparalleled night of action. "The Canadian Icon" Clayton Kyle will be making the journey from Fort Qu'Appelle Saskatchewan all the way to "Cowtown" and into the Taphouse. Along the way he will be thinking of the challenge he has made, and one the WRSA Office is waiting on to be accepted. After spending time training at the Workforce Performance Centre, as well some time at World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollin's School, Kyle is looking to test his skills.

This Tuesday the Wild Rose Sports Association debuts at the Brickwell Taphouse in Calgary Alberta in what is setting up to be one of the most anticipated shows in the Province in some time.
WRSA Chief Operations Officer Jay Sullivan has always supported the theory of his Promotion being one with an "open door" policy. One that allowed WRSA Champions to defend their Championships in any Promotion, and the opportunity for other Promotions Champions to come to the area is one that is always welcome.
So when the Real Canadian Wrestling Commonwealth Champion Thomas Billington issued an "Open Challenge" for his Championship for the Jan 30th show, the WRSA Office started to receive much interest from wrestlers around Alberta.

On that night perhaps the wrestler with the hottest winning streak of late in all of Canada, will be in action. Bobby Sharp, the current WRSA Heavyweight Champion will be defending his coveted Title. His opponent that night will be Steve Wilde, a seasoned veteran like very few here in Alberta.
Wilde brings fourth a multitude of experience in his hunt for his first WRSA Championhip, but the "Lion Warrior" Bobby Sharp is up for the task.

Throughout the past few years the Legion #1 located in the City of Calgary, has been the home of Professional Wrestling on many nights, showcasing some of the top Pro Wrestlers in Alberta. These wrestlers putting on some of the best matches seen in these parts in many many years.
This Friday night, the Legion once again opens its doors to the Wrestling fans of Calgary chomping at the bit for bell to bell action. The Wild Rose Sports Association presents a evening of matches that will feature some of the most athletically gifted performances around, however one match in particular may not stay within the confines of the Legion itself because of the stipulations put in place by the Promotion.
The match in question is the WRSA Tag Team Championship battle between "The Prophets" Chris Kastles and Ryno Reynolds, as they defend the Championship belts against the Number 1 Contenders " The Handsome Devils ". These teams have been battling throughout the past year all over Alberta, even into rival Promotions.
The WRSA has decided this war needs to come to a decisive end, and therefore signed a match that will see a NO DQ, NO HOLDS BARRED, AND FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE stipulation match.

Mr Tim Strange who came over from the UK recently and showed Southern Alberta just how much of a Hardcore Champion he really is, taking the division to new heights. Unfortunately Tim is returning to the UK and will not be able to defend his title in the near future, has decided to leave these parting words for WRSA and the fans.
The staff and management of WRSA want to thank Tim for giving us and the fans an amazing ride in the short time he was here, best of luck in the UK, and we will definitely see you again, mate!!!

Since it's inception the Wild Rose Sports Association has prided itself on being the one Promotion in Western Canada that encourages its Champions to travel to other regions and defend their Championships.
One man who took that to heart was WRSA Cruiserweight Champion Davey Dysaster, who has traveled all over Alberta and Saskatchewan to various Promotions battling top contenders. Sometimes with the fans behind him, the majority of times not, it didn't matter to Dysaster who would stop at nothing to remain atop the Cruiserweight Division.
Along the way a rivalry has emerged as Tyler Knox has climbed the rankings and this Thursday in Red Deer and this Saturday in his hometown of Medicine Hat - Knox will battle Davey in Championship matchups.
Davey vows to relive results of past and remain Champion.

This Friday August 18th the "Born Again Bruiser" Wrath will return to the city where he won the WRSA Hardcore Championship last September, and he will step into the ring with a Hardcore Champion in his own right - "Viking Rage" Vince Austin.
At the initial Wild Rose Sports Association show last September Wrath won the Two Night Tournament held in the legendary Victoria Pavillion in Calgary. Since then contenders have been lining up and pitching their case to the Championship Committee for a title shot.
The Committee decided the time had come for two of the toughest men in the Province to finally meet one on one, and signed a match that will have the fans on the edge of their seats.

Yesterday Fuerza sent word to his opponents CWE Heavyweight Champion Mentallo and former WRSA MidHeavyweight Champion Harlon Abbott about his respective matches in Red Deer and Calgary.
