Paraphrase Productions We are a husband and wife team specializing in video and photography. We have a passion for story telling and capturing authentic moments and emotion.

This page is a way for us to showcase some of our projects. Nicholas heads up the video side of our company as well as offering his services externally for production management and post-production work. Laura heads up the photography side of Paraphrase Productions offering photo shoots to individuals and families. To "paraphrase" is to express the meaning of something using different wor

ds. In our work, we seek to convey something that is intangible, like emotion, into something that people can see. We desire to seek out clarity and purpose in what we communicate by taking something that is stale and lifeless, and giving it emotion and story. In essence, paraphrasing it.

Shot a wedding on Saturday and this engagement shoot on Sunday. It feels like I've been quiet for ages, but I really only had a couple of weeks without shoots. I'm back at it with mostly fully-booked weekends (I have a couple Sundays available still) through to November now. A mix of weddings and families over the next 6 weeks and then the quieter season. In my 12 years doing this professionally I have lost two pieces of gear to rain (one camera and one lens) and dropped my most expensive lens. 3 big ticket items over 12 years isn't too bad. This wedding was one that cost. Despite my best efforts to hold an umbrella at all times, the humidity and sideways rain fried one of my lenses. A little early morning branding and headshot session today, which has the fastest turnaround time ever - would have been quicker if I didn't need a nap, haha - because we're heading into a double-header wedding weekend with a family shoot or two along the way. But after that - some time off with my own sweet fam jam before school starts again
