Arcadian Junction (AJs) is the new kid on the block for food trucks in Alberta. We are trying to reduce our environmental footprint!

We are starting off with not using single-use plastics. We hope to be implementing solar power rather than fossil-fueled generator power in the not-so-distant future.

Hello everyone : )

Some news! We sold Stella (the food truck) but we still have the Groovy Gherkin. We will be setting up a new page for the Groovy Gherkin. With Stella gone, we no longer offer our fries (sorry...) and we will only be doing limited runs of our sandwiches...(sorry). BUT...we will have amazing hand crafted smokies & Mennonite sausage from Wiebe's Delicatessen (located in Coaldale, AB) AND their amazing small batch garden relish & hot pepper butter (it's not actually butter...lol..and it is AMAZING stuff!).

We will be out at the 2024 Wild Oats n Notes Music Festival on June 28 to 30th with the GG and we will have selected pressed sandwiches there...yes, the famous Cubano will be one of them : )

September is here and we are kicking it off at the New Sarepta Smash Up Derby (September 9)! Both the Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen and the Groovy Gherkin will be there. In fact, the Gherkin is the only dessert unit for the whole event🫢 Our food truck will be serving our signature sandwiches and poutine, as well as ice cream floats and mini doughnuts. The show can draw as many as 10,000 people - you don't want to miss it!

Guess who’s going!?! That’s right! Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen!!! Stella is getting all fancied up for the big day 😁

The press’d sandwiches of the day will be Cubanos, (not such a) Jerk Chicken, Spicy Buffalo Soldiers, Italianos, Chicken & Pesto, and of course our Cheese Grill’as. Our tasty poutines & fries will also be coming out hot and fresh!

And…..Stella’s little sidekick, the Groovy Gherkin food trailer will also be there serving up mini Donuts, ice cream & other cool treats 😎

There is a gate fee to get into the grounds, and it’s definitely a day of crowds and loud engines! We hope to see you there!

Whew! What a whirlwind of a ten day festival! After ten long, non-stop days of fries, poutine, and pressed sandwiches, it's over! But fear not, Stella's season is not over yet. You can still get a taste of AJ's Street Kitchen. Our food truck will be at the New Serepta Smash-Up Derby in September, and we are still accepting catering bookings into the fall. See you there!

So someone suggested we add some spicy buffalo chicken to our tasty traditional poutine, so we did! And let us say- once word gets out about how good it is, we get order after order for it. You can dress this one up further with jalapenos, mushrooms, purple onion, and ranch. Let us know how you want your spicy buffalo chicken poutine! Our food truck is still at the Edmonton Fringe Festival (until Sunday), so you can come try it!

Fringe Festival things are commencing!!! Today our food truck, Stella, moves on-site. Alas, we decided to release this Fringe Festival Information Package. Here are the must know things: The Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen will be located on 85th avenue by the Kid's Fringe. You do not need tickets to the event to visit the food truck. Our signature sandwiches will be rotating throughout the festival, so if you miss one, there's a good chance you can get it another day. We are all super pumped to be going to the 2023 Fringe!🦄

The “not such a jerk” chicken is one of our signature sandwiches. My step-father, Jim, is from Guyana and has a killer jerk chicken recipe. I use it to make fresh chicken thighs for this sandwich, which rest on a bed of tangy slaw (the only slaw my husband will eat and enjoy), and fresh grilled pineapple. This story begins a very long time ago. My Dad loved to cook, especially for others. It was important to him to make others happy by making them amazing food, and dishes that they likely would never had made for themselves. He was always over the top in everything he did; he was a grandiose person. He made incredible feasts for people and I think that is where I get my joy of making food for others. I am not a passionate cook. I just like to make good food for others. My passion is to spread joy and happiness, and in my food truck I attempt this through food. When I was four years old, my Dad had a dream to open a restaurant. He was an amazing self taught chef. This was back in the early 1970s when men cooking was not really yet a ‘thing’. As a young child, I was enamoured with this dream of his, and asked if I could work in the restaurant with him. He told me I definitely could, and that I could take the orders from the customers. I was thrilled, and then immediately concerned with my new prospective job because I couldn’t spell many words. He assured me it was okay, that I would be a quick study at learning to spell. I took my task of learning to spell very seriously, almost obsessively so, and at 7 years old I won the silver medal in my school’s spelling olympics against all the grade levels. We never opened the restaurant and as I came to know through the years my father was an amazing dreamer of big ideas and fantastical adventures, but rarely were they actualized. My father gave me the gift of dreaming, and it materialized into the Arcadian Junction Street Kitchen.
